Guadalajara Family Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Aurora

It took me two days to come back to this review and really analyze what I had when it comes to service, value, and how good the food tasted. In 2011 I used to work at the Best Buy around the corner for four years and lots of my coworkers recommended this place, but I never pulled the trigger and tried it. 13 years later, I finally visited this place for a combination plate. I ordered One Enchilada, 1 Chile Relleno and 1 Tamale. I really feel bad for myself for not coming here sooner. I really felt like I robbed myself of some of the greatest Mexican food in Aurora. Everything was hot. The service was fast and most importantly the food was consistently delicious. I even got chips and salsa that I didn’t know I would even receive. The salsa was delicious. There was so much food for the price of about $15 that I couldn’t believe it. If you are big on reviews and love Mexican food, please give this place a try you will not be disappointed. I was super unimpressed. It felt like we were ignored the entire evening. I was with a 10 top. I had flag a waiter down to ask for more water, including asking for more water when we ordered (over an hour after we sat down). Nothing about the food was warm. When my kid's food was set in front of her, I immediately stole a fry and they were cold, not fresh tasting, and just totally meh.

My food was ok, at best. I had the Pollo Poblano and the sauce had some flavor, but the rest was unremarkable. The chicken in the sauce was dry, despite being drenched with the sauce.

My wife had something with multiple meats on it, and she kept telling me after "Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing?" Nope, nothing was good. All of it was cold, overcooked, bland, and just not appealing. We didn't even bother to ask for boxes when leaving.

In the three hours it took to order, get our food, and pay, I had my water glass empty over 2 of them. We were given a pitcher full of ice with some water in it to split between 5 people. It was empty in minutes and was never refilled.

People kept walking by our table as we were sat near the kitchen and not once did anyone...

I order smothered shredded burrito and the meat was not shredded, just cut in big chunks and tasted like it had been cooked in dirty water and on top it had lettuce, tomatoes onions sour cream cheese ,but was not smothered with green chilli,and half way down it was covered with coleslaw like I wouldn't notice,and they didn't even want to take off the bill it was truly nasty,and the waiter said that's the way they are made I said no I use to come here quite often and they were great just exactly how I ask for and the way a burrito should be so I don't know what the hell that was but I'm not paying for it I'm sorry ,but it was truly nasty and even worse he never even ask if I would like something else in place of it,and never even apologized just there and pay for it ,and I ask for the manager and then he wants to take 50% off the burrito I said no I didn't eat it can I talk to the manager and he said ok I'll take it off ,and still didn't get manager ,and guess what I will never go there again sad because it use to be really good ,but I don't know anyone who would have ate that burrito it...
