My first...and last visit to this library. Went to use the study room/computer lab...2 guys were there as well...looking at a movie and playing a game on the computers...no headphones on either one. Worse yet--the one guy was VAPING a cloud of smoke..I brought it to the librarian's attention--all she said was, "Well, we'll give him a second chance" after telling him to put the Vape away. NOT ACCEPTABLE!! This is a no-smoking environment PUBLIC LIBRARY...they have RULES posted everywhere-which apparently mean nothing. And to make it worse---I am a 65 year old woman who is mobility impaired, yet I was the one who had to choose to move to another area, while this huffer puffer stays there...what kind of staff in a library allows a patron to remain in the library, after BLATANTLY breaking the no smoking rule? Read moreAfter Living in Aurora for more than 25 years I must say this. There is a Library in Aurora that is all about the community. They are interactive and caring. Face it most library's are just a place to get books movies and use a computer, you wont even know the librarians names little alone anything about them. Not Hoffman- Lara, Tyler, Tyler, Octavio, Hanna make this a place people want to go. They make this more than a Library its a Family & Kid friendly Oasis. They don't just sit there, they interact, they teach us to Sew, Show us world trips, mind storm programming and more. They also love on the people that come in there. Amazing Place. Read moreLike many of the reviews here have stated the workers can be very rude, even during this c19 they continuously make up policies such as you cant use your own laptop computer while working in the quiet study rooms if there is a computer in there. With that being said the workers and "security guard" as she calls herself needs to work on CONSISTENCY. stop having the head librarian walk around admonishing patrons about policies and masks but then when the head librarian isn't working... everything seems to fall by the wayside.
