I've never left a review before but my experience with this Enterprise is the worst customer service experience I've had in my life.
I rented a car from this location through my insurance while my car was at an auto body shop. Enterprise offers the service of returning your car to the body shop rather than the Enterprise location. There were several Enterprise vehicles at the body shop every time I was at the shop. Leaving the keys and returning the vehicle to the body shop is expressly authorized by the company/branch.
Issue:
I return the rental car to the body shop at 1 pm, a hail storm hits approximately between 5:00-5:30 pm damaging the car, and Enterprise picks up the vehicle the next day, almost 24 hours after I left the keys with the body shop. They then tell the body shop, "don't worry the damage is on the customer," and file a claim against me holding me liable for damages to a car that I already returned and which I couldn't have protected from hail if I wanted to. I may as well have left the rental car on the side of the road with the keys in the ignition for anyone to steal and damage as they please.
One of the employees attempted to lie to me and said "you dropped it off at the body shop at 4:30." Obviously, that's not true and can be verified by the body shop, security cameras, the receptionist, my receipts from picking up my own car. I think I'd know when I dropped off my vehicle, and I obviously didn't drop it off in the middle of a hail storm.
I'm an attorney and I don't expect to be held liable for a vehicle that I no longer had care, custody, or control of. Even if my insurance policy pays out Enterprise's claim, the practice of authorizing care, custody, and control, of their cars to a third party (with apparently no liability agreement b/w body shop and Enterprise) and then holding the customer responsible is poor business practice and takes advantage of the customer. It's also incompetent to allow your cars to be returned to a 3rd party location with no liability agreement.
The only reason they offer this service is to get a leg up on competitors who don't offer drop off and pick up. Their employees obviously don't care, can't bother, or are too overwhelmed to pick up the vehicles in a timely manner. If Enterprise can't pick up vehicles from a body shop 10 minutes away, then they shouldn't offer the service.
Terrible company policy. Terrible branch. I don't recommend renting a vehicle from this location and strongly recommend against taking advantage of their policy of dropping off vehicles at body shops they work with. Enterprise employees will take their time in picking it up, and they will...
Read moreDo not rent from this absolute dump of a rental car establishment. I will never do business with Enterprise at the Austin location again and thus far making me rethink/evaluate even doing business with Enterprise period. Rent from this place at your own risk. I apologize for the inconvenience and I will compensate for your time are simply words they won’t use nor will communication be given. From issuing out vehicles with expired tags, to how dirty they are on the inside, cracked glass, to oil changes, lights coming on inside of the car mainly because car maintenance is over due and not being checked or performed. Is this the standard for Enterprise Now?!?!? It’s shamefulI!!!!! thought very highly of Enterprise until now. I was pulled over due to expired tags, they towed the car back to Austin from my job. I had to pay uber to take me home. Then pay Uber again to take me to Austin the next day to pick up yet again another car which was also dirty by the way. And corporate office FYI wont help you as well. I was told by them nothing will be DONE!!!! After calling corporate office and that location countless times(10 times to be exact) and not one single returned phone call. I cannot be compensated for the inconvenience your company created by giving me a car with expired tags or being stranded at work from your establishment towing my car due to error on your behalf and then having to pay to get back to your establishment!?!?
Weather your renting due to business reasons, personal or because you got into an accident the cars are filthy/not clean and the maintenance is not being kept up. No concern for health/safety or the appreciation for your business/time at all is being considered at this establishment!!!!!! I cannot convey strongly enough how disgusting this place keeps there cars. "If these enterprise cars could speak, their cars would be screaming "Run Far Far Away"" Please don't be fooled by the Enterprise name they are no longer the top tier or standard in car rentals. They are unprofessional, reckless on safety, and definitely aren’t providing good customer service to their customers. They simply do not care not the service shop and corporate either they are only thinking of themselves they don’t put customer first here. Please rethink before renting...
Read moreNormally I have no trouble with enterprise have been renting there for years with no problems. I always rent on the weekend and have been picked up at my home in Manor tx. That is the only reason I rent from enterprise because of the pick up. Now they do not pick up on the weekend because they say they only have 2 counter persons and one car prep. This only shows me that enterprise only cares about the bottom line which is profits. First there only open a half day on Saturday and you don't have the option to bring a car back on Sunday which make you have to pay for an extra day off top and you can't get a pick up anymore like I said earlier this was the only reason I used them. I will NEVER! Rent there again until corporate shows more of a commitment to Custer service I will rent from there competition until then. I know this is not the location fault but they represent the company as a whole and have to go down with them. So if you don't mind not having options and have a ride to pick up your rental then they serve that basic function. One other thing to note they have different security deposits for different people or I think it is up to the discretion of the counter person but I never had a two hundred dollar hold on my rental. For example I had a free day by cashing in my points and my total rental was 27 dollars so at the most my hold should have been 50 dollars even though I have a 10, 000.00 credit limit with about 7,500.00 available I just don't like people holding and playing with my money. I hate you enterprise and to add insult to injury for them to try and protect their selves they gave me an upgrade. My upgrade was from a Toyota to a Kia last I checked Toyota is better than a Kia so I feel like I was down graded again I will never rent from enterprise again until they have pick up available for all days they are open. Thank you Patrick Edmond I gave my real name because I don't have anything to hide...
