so if i could do zero stars it would be zero two day because i reviewed them yesterday about selling 2 and 3 day old tea that is setting out all day a refrigerated at night and then pulled back out the next day until it sells and if it does not sell, it is refrigerated again, and sold the next day and because on my review the unprofessional owner has advise the staff that they are to no longer serve me, even if they do have fresh tea so like I said, in my review, I drive all the way across town every day for tea, not for the food because the food is gone downhill since Covid and prices are one of the highest Mexican restaurants in Austin so I guess I hit a Soft spot by telling the truth because only the truth hurts you, so I hope they fix this problem before they make someone sick Please google rules and regulations of safety, on tea it starts to grow mold after 2 hours and if they’re mad about the tea being reviewed just think about the food are they saving chips? Are they saving food off the tables and repurposing it in Tacos hmmm like what else is being saved if you’re saving the cheapest thing there is in a restaurant to make 🤦🏼♀️sorry not sorry fix it do better as owners know it’s not all about the money and anybody that goes there can see a high high turnover in staff, so therefore it’s not only the food the owners have a problem with their big head and having a problem with these problems never happened when their son ran the breaker location and their daughter-in-law was at the...
Read moreFirst time here and I came early to beat the crowds that generally form after 9:00 am. It's a smaller older restaurant but has charm none the less and very clean. The staff was very friendly, answering my many questions and the do take out orders which I love.
I wanted some breakfast tacos and from the reviews, anxiously awaited to try this place out. In all honestly, I would have rather given a 3.5 star rating.
I ordered breakfast tacos; Bacon and Egg add Nopalitos. So when I paid I was a bit surprised that the cost of each taco was over $3 when for Bacon and Egg tacos it was $1.99 and each additional item is $0.35. I was doing the math in my head and had to ask why they were so much more, $16 for four tacos! The answer I was given is that I was charged for the Napolito and Egg taco which cost about $1 more and add the Bacon for the $0.35 extra. Hmm, still confused on that one, I was not aware that cactus was so costly - did not expect it to be more than bacon and anywhere else I go for breakfast tacos this is not the case. I feel like they charged me for the most they possibly could.
I go home and tear into these tacos and yes, they are good - a bit too much nopalitos for my taste - hence why I asked for Bacon and Egg add the nopalitos! Lesson learned for sure. I would like to try other menu items though - I will just be very weary of...
Read moreBeen eating and ordering out here for decades. Always thought this was a really good down to earth TexMex restaurant that had fair prices. Have not been back a while since we moved our office. Wife and I stopped by recently for breakfast when in the area and the food was as I remembered it. But what a shocker!!! A Fajita Quesadilla with some salsa verde, one taco pastor, one taco barbacoa, a cup of coffee(that tasted like it was made from pencil shavings) came up to $34! With tips it was almost $40 for a simple breakfast for two. They even charged for a small saucer of salsa and no chips included. Waitress came by to see if everything was ok but didn’t even skip a step to hear my reply. Inflation I know but come on man 😜! Probably won’t be back...
