It wasn't necessarily a bad experience but it wasn't a good one. I came in 11/21/19 for an oil change. I was greeted by a gentleman not long after I pulled in (awesome, I appreciate this). I told him I needed an oil change and he gave me a sheet to fill out with my info. He told me to circle one of the 3 options for the oil that could be used and how many miles they lasted. I circled the lowest option since I was given no actual concrete information. He asked me to step out of my car so that he could drive it in and that I could sit and wait outside. Why advertise as a drive in oil change service if I'm not actually able to drive in and wait in my car? I was uncomfortable with this arrangement and felt like I wasn't given a choice. I sat outside and I kept waiting to get any sort of additional information but that never happened. I was never told how much it would cost, how long the wait would be, or what exact services they were doing. I had to walk in and ask this information myself. This is just not okay. There are no prices posted anywhere, there is no information about the oil being used posted anywhere, and if it's posted in the garage I wouldn't even know because I was asked to step out of my car for a service listed as a drive through. Eventually a different guy came out to grab me because he wanted to show me something. He brought me to my car and said that he noticed that there was a crack in the middle of my windshield and that my headlights could be cleaned to be able to be seen better at night, I was given quotes on what those would be. I declined at that time, these were things I already knew but I appreciated being told all that information up front so that I could make an informed decision myself. My problem is that as I was brought in I saw them checking other fluid levels in my car, adding air to my wheels, etc. Though additional services are not bad, I felt really uncomfortable with all these things being done with out being told upfront what is being done. After that I decided to sit outside the garage and watch. When they finished they randomly drove my car out and saw that they parked it around the corner to me to drive out easier (not a bad thing, but information that I would have liked to be told up front). When I checked out they gave me a list of all the fluid levels they checked, adding air to my tire, etc. The whole experience took about 30ish minutes. I really hate leaving bad reviews and hardly ever do, especially for a 1st time visit, because I think that it often gives an unfair perception of a business as a whole, but this is honestly a process that needs to change. The option to be able to drive in for an oil change vs. having a mechanic drive my car in is in my eyes more of a personal preference, and if that was the only "negative thing" I experienced this review wouldn't exist. The Main Takeaway (I can't over emphasize this enough): You cannot perform services without giving all information to the owner of the vehicle upfront. It cannot happen. If I am monetarily and personally responsible for the health, functionality, and longevity of my vehicle, I need to know all information of what will be done and pricing up front. How else can I make an informed decision up front? I know the history of my car, there are so many what-ifs on things that can go wrong when you do something without previous consent. And what if I never asked for the pricing and when I checked out it was more than I expected? Would I be expected to pay it? Would it be the price I want? Would it be free? I just really cannot get past this. I really hate to be this person but please please modify this. I wouldn't say this place is bad-that's not a fair assessment to make off of one visit, and everyone was friendly! But it was an uncomfortable enough of an experience where I probably wouldn't go back again. I am willing to be contacted for any additional questions or...
Read moreSo I’ve had two oil changes done with these guys over the past six months. two weeks or 800 miles after the first oil change my car started asking me to refill the oil, so I went back to Valvoline and told them that the vehicle was asking for oil to be added, So they checked to make sure everything was tight and nothing was leaking and they refilled the oil. Then came my second oil change, the exact same thing happened after this oil change! I had to go back and ask them to refill the oil because it was asking for oil Again! They checked everything and said everything was OK and refilled the oil again, which cost me more money again! . So, after doing a little bit of research on my vehicle, I decided to take it to the main dealer and tell them that there seem to be an issue with the car losing oil. I told them I had two oil changes performed by valvoline over the past six months and I told them exactly what happened. My dealership performed an oil consumption test and I am already 1500 miles in and there is no problem with my car. It’s not asking me for any oil and it is perfect! I no longer trust these guys. I don’t think that they’re filling the oil up to the maximum when they’re doing the oil change and I’m having to go back and pay them more money for more oil, So I’m never going back to these guys again ,I’m going to pay the extra money at the dealership to have an oil change done correctly so I have peace of mind.. I trusted these guys, but I no longer do and I would not recommend them! I also remember noticing something really funny after the last oil change, the guy poured five separate quarts into my vehicle but each bottle was spilling out as he took it away from my vehicle, which means he didn’t pour the full contents of each bottle into my vehicle! I remember saying to myself, this is shabby work, and I’m losing oil, but it didn’t click with me at the time that this was gonna end up costing me more money and two return visits ! If you go there, make sure you tell them to fill the full oil bottles into your vehicle because they’re not doing it! Sometimes a quick 15 minute oil change is not gonna do the job for you because these guys are under pressure with time so they don’t have the time to empty all of the oil that your car needs into your car engine! Do better guys you lost a good customer and my wife is never gonna go back to you either! You get what you pay for at the end of the day and a fast 15 minute oil change it’s just not good enough. Take your car to a reputable mechanic or dealership and have them do a proper oil change where they take their time and do it right. Fast is not good when it comes to your...
Read moreMy wife and I have been going to this valvoline for years for my work truck and her Jeep. We’ve been going to this specific location for years because they have been thorough, fair, and timely. Unfortunately my experience this past Sunday 8/3 is making me really consider ever going to this location again, and I certainly can not recommend their services. I went to have a routine oil change on my truck. Two cars were already in the bay being worked on as I pulled up. I proceeded to sit in my truck for 20 minutes without any employees coming up and asking me what services I need. I know things are more difficult because of Corona so I didn’t worry about it. Finally I was guided in and told to wait in the waiting area, and still no one has asked me what services I want. After a short wait, the gentleman who guided my truck into the bay tells me he needs to talk to me about my truck. I go into the bay with him and he shows me a small chip I have on my window and they can epoxy it before it starts to crack. Long story short I end up paying $40+ plus dollars for a repair I didn’t even go in there for, and throughout all of this still no one has asked what services I want on my truck! The man repairs my window as I’m waiting and he proceeds to give me a bill from a company that is not valvovine. This person, the only person who has helped me since I arrived, doesn’t even work for valvoline! Be aware that this glass repair guy is not a valvoline employee, you will be billed separately and he will run your card through his cell phone. I don’t know this company he works for and I really didn’t appreciate him running my card on his phone. Again, after all this I still haven’t been asked by anyone who actually works for valvoline what services I want done on my truck. I continue waiting and eventually an actual employee tells me my truck is done. I asked him what he did and he said they changed my oil. Thankfully an oil change is what I needed but they never asked me or even acknowledged me before they decided on their own that I needed an oil change. I told the tech this and he proceeds to give me a $5 coupon for my troubles. What a weird experience. I don’t know if this location is under new management but this is not the service I’ve come to expect from this location. Be wary before you come here, this is about as unprofessional as they come. You will wait, employees will ignore you, and you will deal with a glass repair guy who looks like a valvoline employee but is in fact not. Again, be careful at...
