I've been going to this theater for a rather long time, back when it was still Regal Cinemas, and I've never had any issues prior until today. Went to watch Alien: Romulus but as soon as commercials started we noticed how the projection was narrowed to the middle. I mention this to the workers and briefly it stops (roughly 1-2 commercials). When it begins again I let them know yet again, and this time the manager (the reason for my poor review) comes out, a skinny man with white hair and a high pitched voice that just walked past me without a word. He looks at the screen, playing the captain america trailer but with doubled imagery do to lack of focus and with attitude he says that it's normal because it's part of the flashback sequence (which was not, as the scene is of Harrison Ford's character President Ross talking to Falcon in present day) and then says that since they had recently swapped out movies that once it started they'd fix it (which was reasonable, as it is the first day of this movie out). Eventually it gets so zoomed out that the upper half of most faces cut off in most scenes.
I wait it out a bit to see if maybe they were still working on it but no, so I got my refund for the tickets I bought the day prior online and left, since clearly him being mad over me calmly asking for an issue to be fixed was more important than people getting their money's worth.
I've worked retail my whole life, so I know the job can be frustrating, and at times mentally taxing, but that is still no reason to just do things with spite or halfway. Every other employee (including the female manager who issued the refund) was polite, so why he chose to be condescending about a simple camera fix is beyond me.
Kindness goes a long way, and so does patience, so for this particular manager, If he had a bad day, I hope he reflects on things, but if it's another case of a manager that thinks you're wrong, be it employee or customer alike, then he will inevitably taint the work place. People quit bad managers, not jobs.
I'm disappointed that one of my favorite venues nearby decided to deal with...
Read moreThis former Regal was recently renovated after being purchased by a small franchise. I am thoroughly impressed by the revamp, as well as the staff/customer service. This space feels so much more welcoming. It's clean. Prices are reasonable for both tickets and food.
A note on the renovations: Where the former ticket both was, there is now a great seating area. The former arcade spot is now an event space. And all the theatres have been remodeled to have leather recliners. You even have the ability to buy tickets ahead of time and specify where you'd like to sit. The recliners are extremely comfortable and roomy. The picture and sound quality also seems to have gotten a slight upgrade.
Staff is personable and well trained. Fair warning that a lot of menu items seem made to order now, so you may want to pad on a little extra time before your movie if you're planning on anything other than popcorn. It also could have taken a bit longer simply because we were there for a weekday matinee, so there were only two staff members.
Their closed captioning device was one of the nicer varieties - the kind that fits into the cup holder and you can adjust where it sits on a long, bendable arm. They auto link up to the proper theatre and the captions had no delay to them.
Honestly, if this is our theatre experience now, I'll be more than happy to return more often. The new owners and management have really turned this location around.

Read moreWent to go see the Five Nights at Freddys movie. Not much to say. Food was alright, seating was alright. The lights could have been dimmer during the movie.
I will say though, my friend accidentally left their phone in the bathroom. When we realized we had left it when we got home the theater had closed for the night. Totally our fault I know. I left a voice-mail explaining that the phone was left in the women's first stall. When we left the theatre google incorrectly listed the times from 9AM to 9PM for some reason, so we went back at 9AM the next day. The front doors were completly unlocked and when we entered an employee informed us the theatre was closed. We apologized and explained the situation but she said no one had reported a phone. We asked if we could just check the bathroom real quick and she said we would have to come back at 12 when they open and then she came out to lock the front doors?
I understand the place was closed but the least she could of done was ask us to wait outside and check the stalls real quick if we weren't allowed in? I understand the security issues but she clearly had enough free time to lock the doors after we left to our car. The phone was indeed left in the restroom when we returned at noon. I'm just a bit taken aback by the rudeness given the situation. We may have scared her coming in when the theatre was closed but if that's the case the doors should have...
