Style Threads Resale& Boutique — Local services in Avon

I came in today to consign or sell some pieces. I had previously visited the store and had purchased some items before. As a plus size woman (3x-4x) I was disappointed with the selection. When I had previously spoke to the owner she stated that she wanted more plus size items but they sold quickly and weren't consigned as often. Today when I spoke to the staff she stated that they like to have bigger stuff but pieces hadn't came in recently. I brought in two paper shopping bags of clothes. I was told that they would look at them Monday and get back to me. I unexpectedly got a call less than an hour later from the owner who said she came in and took a look. She didnt take a single one of the pieces. They were Torrid, Catherine's, Lane Bryant and some boutique brands. She stated some were Shein but after double checking myself not a single item was. She stated it was based on age, though most of them were from the last two years or so. She stated for new consigners she needed at least 10-12 good pieces. I found this all strange as I've consigned at several other places before and never had them turn down everything like that. She apologized but offered to donate the pieces. This felt very off to me. It may not be, but Ive never consigned somewhere before where they won't take items but instead will donate. It felt fishy. Even that being said I wasn't intially going to make a review. Then when I came to pick up my items I was Very frustrated. When I dropped them off they transfered them from my bags into a basket. They were just paper bags so I asked that they throw them away. I watched the girl wad them up and throw them in the trash. When I came in my clothes were back in those bags, one of them badly ripped down the side. The staff person, did move those items to a different bag. But I was stunned they dug those out of the trash and did that. It felt very disrespectful, as if by not just giving her my items she didn't care how gross or damaged they got. I was absolutely flabbergasted by it. All in all an awful experience. It also feels very obvious to me why they don't have more plus size clothes. I definitely do not recommend...
