Today I got spiteful service. I start by asking to be seated in a booth as they had plenty available. I sit down and not long after make eye contact with the waitress, one booth ahead of me, as she serves them. I already know what I want to order as I am prepared through getting the same order every time in the past. She walks by me and goes to the back. Some time passes and a different table is seated, and then promptly has their drinks ordered. At this point I begin to look around which gathers the attention of the manager at the front. He thankfully sends someone to get a waitress for me. My waitress comes and takes both my order for coffee and water, as well as country fried steak and eggs with pancakes as my side. Some time passes and I get my coffee. I ordered the water so that I could cool the coffee with some of the ice, so I end up having to get up and ask for that. After this, a country fried skillet with pancakes. I send the skillet back for my steak. I receive my steak now as my pancakes sit. Honestly the steak was covered in gravy, in a way I can only describe as spiteful. It tasted either overcooked or freezer burnt because I was convinced that it was chicken (due in part to the overall white color of the meat). Two waitresses now came and argued with me. They said that it looked like the right amount of gravy and that it was the normal steak. The only right thing they did then was ask me what I wanted to do about it. I did not want to go out and eat anywhere else as my appetite was ruined. I finished my eggs, hashbrowns and pancakes. As I am finishing my pancakes the waitress comes up to me and tries to tell me that, "You don't have to be nervous you can ask for what you want." I tell her that I am not nervous, I am mad about the bad service, pay and leave. I should not have paid and will not be back. Rude service and lack of ownership from management. This whole thing could have been avoided if management did not allow this spiteful service. That's what it felt like eating at Emmys pancake...
Read moreMy family and I are working towards moving in to the area, so naturally we are staking out places that have been recommended to us. Emmys was part of our list and I could not wait to try their food with my girls. Our waitress Dana seemed like she just could not be bothered with any requests and her attempts to connect with us felt forced. She made some attempts like joking if I “needed an IV for my coffee refills” which felt cringe worthy, because it was not organic and comical from a bright person, more so an annoyance at how many times I said yes to a refill ( because the coffee is good)! My wife and I love black coffee with brown sugar and she gave us the “ oh, you’re going to be those customers,” face! The pancakes were not good at all, dry cakey flapjacks with almond extract and watery sugar served from a syrup wrapped, fingerprinted syrup dispenser. My wife and daughter each tried a breakfast skillet which was bland and too salty. I ate a “Reuben” which was soggy and was dripping from using sauerkraut from a jar plopped onto the pastrami. The fries were great! So much so that my girls asked for another side of fries, and our happy friend Dana looked like she was so irritated when we stopped her from rounding the corner to ask for it. I watched as two tables down her demeanor changed and was way more bright and chipper. As we were leaving the bright bubbliness came out (obviously since it was tip calculation time) and it annoyed us even more. So we obviously will not be back anytime soon, which is unfortunate because half of my Costco employees swears by this establishment....
Read moreArrived on Saturday with a 10-15 minute wait and was given a pager. Short wait and table was ready but owner said couldn't be seated until all party present. Party of 4 (3 adults and toddler) 2 adults present and other adult and child a few minutes away. While waiting for their arrival, noticed several other incomplete parties being seated (party of 10 and 5 only half party present and they were seated). I politely asked the hostess about my observations and why we could not be seated, she apologized and advised this was the manager's rule. The manager/owned approached so I restated what I just mentioned to her to which he told me to have a seat and wait for all my party to arrive and that these are the rules. When asked why the rules are not being followed consistently, he raised his voice and again told me to have and seat and he's not playing with you people. I knew at this point I would NEVER step foot back into this restaurant and sat the pager on counter and walked out. Went to Ricky's on 267 and had a much better experience and food and service was great! Owner/Manager rude and disrespectful. There is another review last year on him acting same way. Too bad I didn't see it before I waisted 30 minutes of my time. Take your business elsewhere and support other small business in Hendricks...
