Iām a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due. With that being said, I was a complete dummy and loaded all my gear for the show at the Wild Horse Saloon - Durango's Favorite Honky Tonk and completely forgot to bring a single guitar pick. I saw a music store in Aztec NM right off the Main Street and decided to make an emergency stop. I walked into Main Street Music NM expecting the same crappy arrogant attitude I get at The Guitar Center in Albuquerque. I was welcomed and immediately asked if I needed help. I grabbed a dozen picks and because they couldnāt break a $20 bill for $5 worth of picks the guy told me, āyou know what, just take āem. Stop back in next time you play up here, pay us then, and have a killer show!ā. I instead told the guy to sell me some strings and fill the rest of the $20 so I can help his business. I can go on and on about how this reminded me that there are still great people in this world and what his gesture meant to me, but instead wanted to tell everyone I know about Main Street Music in Aztec and how they NEED to shop here if they are in the area. We killed the Durango show and are getting a bunch more bookings the rest of the year. You bet your ass Iāll be in there buying strings and anything else we need every single time I go through Aztec as my way of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy guitar needed a place to stay for 3 whole weeks and I found just the place, Mainstreet Music. Did it get repaired? No. Was there an or any attempt? I donāt know but Iāll assume no. All the stellar reviews said this was the place to go for sales & service, seems kinda misleading. What I did get was excuse after excuse each week leading up to disappointment, how unfortunate of me. Well I guess Iāll have to take my future service repairs to the big city where I know theyāll make the effort to check it & fix it. Would I recommend this place? Definitely not. And no, not because of the wasted time but I feel there was no attempt whatsoever to even survey, address and remedy the issue of the guitar in question. The remedial excuse was so unprofessional itās laughable as I type this. In closing I would have given a single star but I decided to throw in another just for the fact I had a 3 week vacation from a guitar that isnāt up to par at the moment and didnāt get the attention it needed in that 3 weeks. Perhaps if I had put some green on the counter upfront that would have gotten the ball...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would say 40% of my collection is from Main Street music, as a young kid my father would buy all of my instruments from here. As I became an adult John would always treat me right and give me straight facts and never lead me astray. I have since moved away but their Reverb page is always revolving and has great stuff in it, and I always make sure to stop by when I'm in town. I would recommend Main Street music for all your musical needs, to reiterate what I said, even when they've made small mistakes, they would go above and beyond to make things right for me. Even in the metropolitan I now live in, with all the huge music stores, Main Street Music makes even the big retail giants here, look pale in comparison. I recommend this place to all of my musican friends that make road...
