My father, mother and I went to Bandon on vacation from our home in Washington State and went to this gift shop for a typical Oregon tourist sweatshirt. There were probably anywhere from five to seven employees on the floor. Nobody greeted us even when we all said "hello" and smiled, like everyone in Spokane does when you enter a store. When my family and I started looking, the employees/security started swarming and watching us intently for theft. It was completely overboard - we could barely move around and shop. We were wearing t-shirts advertising my father's bussiness, too, which is funny - who's stupid enough to steal while wearing a shirt that totally identifies you? We did not feel welcomed in the store whatsoever and it made us not want to shop at all. No one wanted us to be there. The merchandise was cool, though, so I ended up spending $50 and my dad spent about $80. I regret not saying something about how rude the staff was being towards us. If you work at a store that makes its money on tourism, maybe you should at least GREET the tourists. Being nice wouldn't hurt, either. Maybe it was because we didn't necessarily look "put together" or maybe it was because of my medium-sized purse. Either way, I wouldn't...
Read moreMy rating is strictly because of my dissatisfaction with the presentation and packaging of my three pounds of fudge I purchased at the store. I requested three separate boxes as they were for gifts for three people. I was told they didn’t have boxes (although they were on display). I decided to buy them anyway and asked that they be put in three separate bags for gifts. The bag that I request four different flavors one quarter pound slices had six different sized slices (not sure why they were cut this way as they were cut from solid slabs of fudge). The bag I requested two different half pound pieces were not even close to the same size. Also there were no plastic knives in any bag to slice the fudge. Not what I am used to when buying fudge from a store and one that also offers online ordering. Not sure if this is standard for the store or just lack of training. But in any case not the way I wanted to give this yummy fudge to my friends as gifts. Hoping the taste is the way it has been in the past and not a reflection of the new packaging/presentation. New to me anyway as it has been a two plus years since my last...
Read moreBeing a local resident, I prefer shopping local as well as bringing guests to Old town. This place is the exception. I visited the store and bought some sugar free taffy. Big mistake!! I got home tried some and it's a gooey mess sticking to the wrapping paper. I returned it later and was greeted by a cheerful person who efficiently processed a return. My issue is with the other person at the counter manager?? who gave me a suspicious glance mumbled something and walked away. Please take a look at your taffy inventory
The other thing just like other reviews if you want to browse the store, know you'll be shadowed by an employee to ensure you don't steal their stuff, ya right!!! I'm 60+ retired and I have a shoplifting look about me. I have unfriendly vibes coming...
