I went to Staples today and had a really bad experience. I had been seeing the ads on TV promising the 110% price matching guarantee. So, today I drove an hour and a half to go buy 400 composition notebooks and 180 two pocket folders. When I got there the sign on the notebooks said you could only get the sale price on the first thirty that you bought. I wasn't worried because I knew I could get the sale price on all of them by showing them the Walmart ad for 50 cents. Well, I was wrong. The girl who was checking me out said it was fine, but then some guy from the next register said no. His reasoning was that to get the price match guarantee, it had to be the EXACT same product. Well, the composition notebooks were STAPLES Composition Notebooks, not WALMART Composition Notebooks, even though they look identical. Described the items, and what I needed to have printed, and was told to come back in the morning because the girl that works in the morning has “been here forever and can help you.” I came in at 9am to get these items printed before I had to be to work, and was met with hostility, rudeness, and dismissal. I didn’t even get a goodbye or a have a good day. I was just shoved off. This is the second time I’ve been told one thing by one employee, and something completely different by another. Read moreWow, one of Managers, Shannon seriously gave best service I've received in long time. This morning my phone froze and stayed frozen despite my efforts. In area that is new to me so I literally use mapquest everywhere and now I was very lost and frustrated on a very hot day. Took chance to check at Staples if they fixed phones. Cashier helped me, then sent me to Shannon...who immediately started acting like he knew what to do...and presto he FIXED MY PHONE. I know I always have the best help while in Staples, but this young man went beyond great service. Highly recommend this store in Bay City Michigan and I hope they realize Shannon is truly a outstanding employee...
