Souper Cafe — Restaurant in Bangor Township

I would not recommend going here unless there is a comment following that management has had serious discussions with their staff. First of all, if you are trying to eat healthy - Keto, Low Carb, Paleo, Vegan, etc there are zero choices for you to eat. I was meeting family there for a late dinner. We placed our orders and planned on eating inside. We noticed that all of the tables had 2 chairs at the them, so we started putting 2 tables together because there were 4 of us and a baby. The outside tables had tape all over them. The employees then told us that we couldn't put the tables together and that we could only sit two at a table even though we were a family. There were NO other people in the restaurant. We knew this to be false based on knowledge we have from our jobs. We were then told that Bay County has special rules that other counties don't have. You have got to be kidding me??? I do not live in Bay County, but I found this to be highly unlikely. We did not want to get into an argument, so we took our food and ate it somewhere else. During the drive I scoured the Bay County website looking for the area where they have different rules for restaurants than the rest of the state. I could find no such thing. I did; however, find a section for submitting questions to dispell rumors regarding Covid related topics. Fortunately, I type 160 wpm and had no problem submitting the above-mentioned experience. The next day, I received the following response:

Whomever told you that was feeding you a line of B_S_!

I checked with Joel Strasz, our Health Department Director and he was dismayed to learn of it.

If you would care to, please let us know the name of the establishment and I will make the owner aware of what their staff is doing to their customers and the public at large. I dine out daily for lunch or dinner and have never heard of any of that happening at any other restaurant.

I am so sorry you had a bad experience in Bay County and hope you realize that it is an anomaly and not the norm here. If you would like, I will follow up on this, just let me know.

I initially did not give the name of the restaurant, just in case it was true. However, after receiving this email, I was happy to provide it.

My family and I were having a late dinner after a busy day and were all very hungry and just wanted to enjoy a nice meal together. The staff in the restaurant treated us this way AFTER we paid for our food and we had to load a hungry baby back in the car and go somewhere else. I am certain there are plenty of other restaurants that would be happy to accommodate us on our next visit...

I ordered for the first time last week and got back to office to find out my sandwich out of the whole order was missing. When I called and asked for a manager a female answered and told me she would write my name down for a full sandwich in the book to pick up at my convenience. When I arrived today a male who said he was the district manager serv3d me and told them he said my name only had a half sandwich in the book and would not give me my whole sandwich that I paid for and NEVER got! It was a $10 sandwich that I'm just supposed to be ok with losing out on because that's not what was written down even though that is what I was told and what was missing from my order. I am very disappointed and will probably never return after...

This place use to be awesome!! I recently had lunch here and the food quality has really faded. I use to enjoy the chicken ranch wrap. This time, it was nothing but lettuce and little to no chicken filling. Yet, FULLY PRICED. I asked to taste a small sample of one of the soup, to see if thats what I wanted. I was told they dont give samples, but if I didnt like what I ordered they would switch it for another. So, apparently they would rather waste a whole order rather than to give a small sample, so that dont happen. It wasnt busy other than 2 tables seated. The dining room was filthy. Tables needed to be wiped down and cleaned. We use to enjoy eating here but the drastic changes has us questioning if...
