I've been frequenting the Broadway Salvation Army for quite a few years now and one thing I can say definitively is that it's nothing at all like it used to be, that is, of course to say the least, the very least. Fact is nothing else on Earth could raise my anxiety level such as what this place has become. The prices have gone up so much that you'd swear they're using the proceeds to help cover the national debt. The staff has become far less helpful than ever, unless you consider the ridiculous excuse for a semblance of organization/order helpful to anyone other than maybe the cockroaches that are hiding throughout the mess otherwise known as the inventory. I've heard through the proverbial grapevine that they've even changed their pricing methods as well, now the deciding factor is allegedly decided by outside source such as the eBay and Amazon gods that rule the internet supermall. This brings about the question "why on God's green earth should I subject myself to the torture that is a day out at the Sally when I can sit at home in my drawers on my laptop, find better quality items and find even better prices without the self inflicted anguish of having to tolerate inpatient and at times rude employees who clearly have favorites in the customer class, seeing as how at six p.m. on the dot they herd everything breathing within the store up to the line at the front counter and if you happen to be one of these unfortunates, then you better be sure to act and behave as if you were back in Sister Catherine's first period theology torment, I mean class because if you step more than three inches out of bounds you'll regret it. Regardless if one of those favorites is at the register gabbing away with the clerk behind the counter about last week's bingo winnings or something even more frivolous, doing nothing other than creating more efficient ways to waste your time. Well I happened to step to the side in this situation once to take one last look at something about five feet away and was then embarrassed when Brumhilda behind the counter decided to reprimand me in a way that was indicative of someone who was lucky enough to personally catch the neighborhood serial killer of kittens and puppies. It would seem as if this once saintly organization has indeed lost a step along the...
Read morePrices were very affordable as should be unlike goodwill being so expensive but the cashier was extremely rude 11/18/2023 around 2 pm. We were trying to be extremely nice, bc short staffed & we got a lot of stuff & a head board we needed help with. There was an item that was missing a price and we were just asking if it a unique item could be re-priced/reprocessed very nicely as we live far away & can’t come back often. We weren’t sure on the procedure, and she was very combative & very rude about it. Very accusatory honestly “No. We can’t. It’s policy bc customers keep ripping off tags to get things for cheap!” Everything was super affordable and very fairly priced at $1.99 and 3-4 dollars an item in clothing & knitting items….. we apologized for having so much stuff and taking so long and then she said “No. my manager is on break. Everybody deserves a break here! We’re here all day.” as if we were hinting that they were taking too long with dealing with customers. We were just apologizing for buying so much stuff bc we found a lot of good stuff She honestly made us kind of feel bad for no reason at all…. Wonderful experience besides the cashiers attitude!!! Definitely needs to work on that bc it was so pleasant & such a good day until dealing...

Maybe an addition, (no judgment) salvation army's been helping people sincerely forever so if you don't find anything you like, drop a $buck or two anyway, you will be helping someone locally, trust me, it helps especially now in winter. When all the once a year do gooders already gave for the Hollidays, Don't hate they gave and someone eat that day, but they're still hungry (a dare) drop in drop a buck or two and leave, I will bet, you'll feel really good. and someone will feel good after they have a hot...
