I got an old Heathkit amplifier repaired here a couple of months ago. It went in sounding distorted after I inadvertently left it on for 48+ hours straight, and it came out sounding better than it ever has before. 30 bucks to diagnose and that goes towards the repair cost if you choose to repair it. Price paid was the exact price I was quoted over the phone for the repair. I first tried a company off of Florida Blvd. Same procedure with 30 dollars down to repair it, but I got no response back from them. After FOUR months passed they told me it would be over $400 to fix (amp costs around 300 off of ebay in working condition). Advanced Video did it for a quarter of that price. Read moreI telephoned, the actually answered (unlike some places!), and were professional. I dropped my Samsung 50" plasma off, they provided a claim ticket, and charged a $50 inspection fee. Should you choose to repair, they apply that towards the total of the repair. They were very reasonable, changed out my damaged logic board with a new one, and my TV is back up and running.
