Okay so,I came to Pho cafe with a very good recommendation from my wife who works very close to the place, and one of my good friends. But the girl who waited on us (Bianca) spoiled our visit and totally ruined our experience. She seems like a hard working good girl, but she was actually highly unprofessional and rude to us. I am going to give some detail below because I know the owner/manager of this place reads the reviews (thanks to Google), and if i was in his shoes I would like to know whats going on at my business. she either needs an intense customer service training or waiting tables is not for her. This is what happened, I spilled some water on the table while trying to show some item on the fairly big size menu (very normal for Vietnamese restaurants) and bumped my water cup. There was very small amount of water splashed on the floor and Bianaca (our waiter) was standing there. I said "I am sorry" very sincerely and I felt bad about it. But Bianca just turned away and just left to get some cloth to clean the table, and since that moment she was really mean to us. and she never come back to take our orders despite that I am waiving at her to get her attention, since it was my wife's lunch hour we were in a hurry. I had to eventually get the other waiter's attention who was very nice and professional to put our orders in, and Bianca kept her rude attitude until we left the place. This happened on Friday 15 Sep 16, around 12:45pm. The other waiter knew that we had a bad experience and asked if everything was fine (she noticed that, Bianca was aggravated at us) but I told her "there is no need to get in to it at that point since we were running late. I hope the manger get...
Read moreThis place was different. It's a yogurt and Viet restaurant in one, but at least it wasn't snow cone and laundry (in texas). Big place, very clean. I've never waited so long on Viet food to be delivered to the table, but I didn't mind it, we weren't in a hurry.
We got the rice plate dac biet with pork chop, egg rolls and fried sunny side up egg...and a bun bo hue. She asked me if I wanted pork blood with my bbh, I want all the fixins!
When my bbh came out, there was no pigs blood or pork knuckles. I asked the kid there for some fish paste and my pigs blood. He brought out hot sauce, and no pork blood. I had to ask again for fish paste, he tried to tell me that the hot sauce was fish paste haha do I look white to you? =P He brought me the right paste =) I was already half way through my bowl when I had to ask again for my pork blood, they finally brought it out.
The broth was okay, slight hint of bbh, but what do you expect? It's the south so they're not catered to a big Vietnamese community. Veggies were fresh. This dish is made of mostly pork, but they don't offer pork knuckles =*(
The pork chop was overly cooked, dry and rubbery. Felt like it was going to bend my knife. My egg wasn't sunny side up, but as you can see, it was cooked all the way through. The yolk wasn't even remotely runny. Eggrolls weren't bad...and it didn't come with a side of pickled veggies and a small bowl of broth for the rice.
Waiting for the check and just paying took forever...but at least the...
Read moreNot bad, not the best! I went with two friends, and each of us were given a completely different set of utensils; we had to ask for a fork. The dumplings were very tasty but very oily, which I'm willing to set aside for a good plate of dumplings. The pho was good, the meat was wonderfully tender but could have used some salt and the broth was good. The clay pot lemongrass chicken was good, but the chicken was overcooked and again missing salt. Otherwise the flavor was wonderful and with the inclusion of more salt would have been an easy 4 stars. I got the clay pot rice with tomato and shrimp and the flavor was very good, but surprisingly sweet. Good, but acid would have done wonders. As well, I guess it's more a failing on my end, but with clay pot rice I expected the rice to have a bit more texture, but it came across as plain steamed rice. So overall, worth eating at if you're in the area and hungry, but I don't think worth...
