Waffle House — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

DEFINITELY NOT THE WAFFLE HOUSE WAY!!! So very frustrated!!! There were 3 grill operators, 4 servers, and a door corp. (None of which kept their masks on properly. It was either off the nose, under the chin, or totally non-existent. There were also a couple of other girls there, not quite sure what their contribution was. One had a white button up shirt on, the other had a black shirt with blue down the sides. My husband ordered K and eggs scrambled, scattered, smothered, covered, and chunked. K takes 8 minutes to cook, my husband got his about 15 minutes after being put on the grill and when he was almost done eating his eggs, hash browns, and toast. One side was hard and dry, the other side was just dry. I had a waffle and sausage. Two waters and a coffee. Our server seemed to be fairly new, she was working very hard. She along with the other servers were not only calling out their orders but marking their plates and dropping their own waffles as well. Waffle irons were sprayed each and every time a waffle was dropped, using way to much spray (making my waffle taste like non-stick spray I only ate one quarter of it), and banging the ladle on the iron itself. Not to mention the irons being completely disgusting. The bacon and sausage were already cooked when we sat down, and mine came from that pile (I paid for it but didn't eat it). They were sitting on a plate on the board in front of the grits. The grill operators would remove the lid from the oil and the grits and set it on top of the precooked sausage and bacon. (so much for cooked to order??) There was way too much oil used in each egg pan, because your Rock Stargrill operator would put the oil in and never dump any out, the cheese egg pan was the same. He would put about 1/2 a ladle of oil in it, then add cheese, the pans had already been washed and wiped with oil. By the way he was wearing the ROCK STAR GRILL OPERATOR shirt and should know many of the things he was and was not doing were not anywhere near WAFFLE HOUSE STANDARDS. They were not busy, just steady. But not to the point you couldn't get a quick break, or a quick bite to eat. There was no greeting upon entering, and absolutely NO TEAMWORK!

We LOVE Waffle House and make it a point to stop at them every time we go visit family. We love the cooks with cigarettes behind their ears. The servers that call you honey and darling. Not here though.The service here was absolutely awful. We sat for 15 minutes before anyone came up to get our drinks. Then we went ahead and ordered at the same time. Our drinks were brought one at a time which was wild. Literally one by one. Our larger plates (all star plates) were brought out after about 20 minutes however the smaller items like just an order of hashbrowns with onions and gravy took about 30 minutes. Then arrived with cheese and hashbrown only. I didnt order cheese on them but said it’s fine can you add onions and gravy. The gravy was so cold it stood 2 inches off the hash brown in a blob in the center of the hashbrowns. I asked if that could be warmed and they took it back. The two single order of waffles we ordered took the longest about 40 minutes. I had already paid before the waffles even arrived. After about 50 minutes total my hashbrown was brought back to the table warm this time but still didn’t have onions. I just left it on the table because at this point everyone was done eating and I had just received mine. My toddler had waited 40 minutes for a waffle and was annoyed and whining. So I was done. Our total was over $40 but only two people ate of the 5. We never got one refill on a single drink including coffee which was empty within 10 minutes of us being there. Went into Waffle House today and tried something different. 😂 LOL!!!

It was a very long time since I had an awesome sandwich that was crispy and crunchy at the same time.
