Wilderness Lodge Mercantile — Local services in Bay Lake

Decent gift shop. It’s the only place I’ve seen the character, Humphrey the Bear. He’s featured on the totem decoration outside of the gift shop. They also sell a small version of the totem as well.

They have a pretty good selection of Mickey ears compared to the other Disney hotel gift shops that I have visited. They also have the usual suspects like t-shirts, pins, kid jewelry, journals, swimwear, a few pool toys, snacks, etc.

Staff seemed friendly. My only gripe is the non-existent airflow in there. It’s like you’re in a hot oven. I feel sorry for the workers especially with respiratory issues. It’s hard to breathe in a place that’s too hot. I felt like I was going to pass out, so I didn’t shop too long there. Disney may want to install some ceiling fans or rework the AC stuff if they want customers to spend more money in there. (Hint…hint)

My daughter participated at the Disney's marathon today and was a guest at Wilderness Lodge in Disney (Boulder building) she happened to be late for check out, because of marathon. Therefore, she asked at front desk if she would be able to take a quick shower in her room. Even though it was check out time she was given permission to go to her room and take a quick shower. Once she arrived to the room, house keeping had started. My daughter explained the situation and the house keeper contacted her manager (Arlene ). Arlene was real RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL to my daughter and this is UNACCEPTABLE. Eventually, Arlene allowed her to take the shower. Terrible consumer service booked a vacation expecting to be able to fish witch was confirmed by 4+ of there employees during booking and check in and u can’t fish on this property as multiple rude employees come up and tell u. literally booked a fishing vacation management was extremely rude to me helping find a solution terrible place ruined my vacation very first day going home to enjoy the rest of my time off work. to be treated in this way when u pay hundreds to stay per night is unacceptable to me will never return to Disney after 4 years of coming year after year this will be the last .
