This restaurant is amazing a dinner. We set up dining reservation on My Disney Experience and checked in on the app. Spoke with a cast member at the front And she said everything was already checked in we would get a text when ready. So during that time she recommended looking at all of the Christmas decor in the lobby which is stunning. There's a large fireplace that they have chairs in front of that you can sit in enjoy. They have lots of couches and single chairs around the large Christmas tree in the middle of the lobby. All very comfy and excellent for chilling out after a long day at the parks. When We received our text message We went up and seated immediately with a wonderful view. The cast member that was serving us was phenomenal He was constantly making sure everything was refilled and more food was brought out when needed without us even having to ask. We had the skillets for the adults and kids macaroni. He asked for recommendations from the cast member and he was very knowledgeable on what they had and what was good to go together. The atmosphere was so relaxed and we thoroughly enjoyed. We ordered the skillet the land by the sea and the traditional. With the skillets you are able to order more of certain proteins and vegetables. You also have all you can eat cornbread and homemade coleslaw. All the servers were joking and having a good time with all of the guests. They will even sing Happy Birthday And they bring out a cupcake for the birthday individual! The best part about this one is that most of the times at restaurants and even sometimes in the park you feel like you're in a hurry to get out quickly. That is not the case here our cast member told us over and over "stay as long as you want eat as much as you want enjoy the time that you're here". Between the views and the laid-back style it was so worth it. This restaurant is also located on the left side when you come in to the lobby it is open to the lobby area so you don't feel closed at any either. The decor goes with the rest of the lobby which is even better. It is definitely a restaurant for all ages Small children told her adults very accessible as well. It is also located right near the restrooms of the lobby which are phenomenal as well very clean. All in all this was an amazing experience and I will definitely be bringing my extended...
Read moreMy wife and I visited the Whispering Canyon Cafe for breakfast to conclude our most recent Disney World trip. It was a bit of a last minute decision, but after reading all the reviews for WCC we decided to book a reservation. Unfortunately, our meal did not live up to the hype.
We decided to each order a skillet for breakfast - I chose the Carnivore, while she selected the Heritage. The Heritage skillet came with eggs, a biscuit with sausage gravy, bacon, sausage, and breakfast potatoes. The Carnivore came with an assortment of meats like chicken, brisket, pulled pork, and sides including corn bread, corn, carrots, and potatoes.
My wife isn’t a fan of sausage gravy, so she asked for it on the side. They were accommodating and met her request. She still tried it, but it was very peppery. The eggs were watery, the potatoes were awful, but the bacon, sausage, and biscuit were all fine. There were little Mickey waffles included but, be forewarned that they are whole wheat waffles, and didn’t have the greatest taste.
For my meal, I couldn’t have been more disappointed, especially after having a meal at the Polite Pig just the other day. While the corn and carrots were decent, the potatoes were also mushy. They had a good flavor, but could’ve been a bit more crisp. Out of the selection of meats, the pulled pork was the “best” but still not superb. The brisket was like shoe leather, and the chicken was pretty basic.
Our service was fine, our server was a bit odd, but I think that may be part of the schtick. He picked up on our vibe and didn’t really bother us.
A few other notes: If offered ketchup, really weigh how much you need it. It looked like those who requested it were provided with about a dozen bottles, and then had to run it to other tables when other diners requested it. The water tasted like sulfur and the soft drinks (at least my Diet Coke) was flat and weird also. Skip the meats. Go to the Polite Pig at Disney Springs instead if you want BBQ. Apparently if you eat someone else’s skillet, you might get charged for it. At least that’s what we overheard another server share with the table behind...
Read moreWe ate at Whispering Cayon on 4/16/25 and it was an overwhelming experience to say the least. Firstly, we were unaware of the “bit” that the wait staff puts on, so I was caught off guard by how rude the waitress was to start us off. She gave us very little time to look at the menu, and then came back and asked us what we wanted to EAT. After we ordered, I asked if I could order a drink and she said “well you should’ve done that before,” so I snapped back and said “well you asked for food orders, you didn’t ask for drink orders.”
I ordered the adult chicken tenders, and when the guy running the food came over to our table, he told me the plate was hot, but proceeded to hand it to me. I showed visible & audible signs of pain, and he smarted off “well I would’ve set it down for you I told you it was hot” in a very sassy tone of voice. If he knew it was so scalding hot, then why did he hold it mid air as if he was handing it to me instead of just setting it down in the first place? How was I supposed to know? It burnt my hands so bad that I actually started crying and had to go to the bathroom and run cold water over my hands to relieve the pain from the burns.
To me, this was beyond just the “bit” that they’re supposed to keep up. I was caused physical pain by a staff member, and then scolded for it. The waitress also found a few more things to pick on me for when I was already visibly upset but she continued to pick on me to bully.
Aside from all of that, it seemed like my plate was scorching hot because it had been under a warming light while waiting on the rest of my table’s orders to come up. The chicken was so dried out and tough from being under the light for too long, I couldn’t finish it.
I have never been so poorly treated at a Disney establishment. My family and I will never return to whispering canyon, nor will we ever recommend...
