Unfortunately my family was disappointed with our experience dining at this location. We had heard great reviews after booking our reservation and were looking forward to the special menu items, such as the specialty drinks and desserts. We had booked our meal for 7:00pm, and later had a reservation for 8:40pm at another location. When we checked in we were told that they're was a 20 minute delay. We were worried about making our other reservation, but we were assured we would make it with time to spare. Unfortunately this was not the case. We were at the restaurant until 9:00pm and weren't able to make our other reservation. The space was too small, one of the guests in our party was constantly having her chair hit by people walking by but had no room to move in. The overall flow and timing of the restaurant seemed off, both in regards to the wait time, and character greeting. We waited an hour for the first character to come to our table, and then had a 15 minute gap between each character after that, which extended our stay. Taking photos at your table with the characters was difficult due to poor lighting and little space to stand. Also, The Queen does not come to your table, you are required to wait in line to meet her in the middle of the restaurant. We almost missed our meeting with Snow White because we were waiting for The Queen. It was an inconvenient place to meet her because we constantly were in the way of servers and customers trying to move around. The meet and greet with The Queen was a great experience though, having a photo pass photographer and a special lighted space was great, just should be in a different area. In regards to the food, my family and I were disappointed. Each adult pays a $55 flat rate and that includes shared appetizer plates, an entree, and shared dessert plates. For an added charge, you can get specialty drinks, which we were very excited about. The drink we got was the Transformation Potion, priced at $5, which involved a sugar stick to stir into the drink, and an extra "potion" themed liquid that the server poured into the drink. The server poured it in for us, but had filled it too much that the drink overflowed onto our table. It also didn't change the drink much. The sugar stick didn't add any flavour as well, and when we drank it, it was lemonade. We expected more from it and were disappointed. The appetizers were okay, and we all ordered the prime rib. My prime rib was very tough and over cooked, very hard to eat. Finally, the dessert was again okay, but didn't live up to what our expectations were. We were very upset to miss our other dining experience, but we're lucky to not have to pay cancellation fees after speaking to a cast member. Due to our experience, we would not return to this restaurant, and would not recommend it to others looking to book Disney dining. My family and I love Disney and regularily visit, but this experience was negative, and affected our...
Read moreIt’s an amazing experience to head over to after a long day at the parks! Very calm, low lighting and there’s a respectful amount of minimal interaction. It is definitely not like a character breakfast where you and the little ones may get overwhelmed or overstimulated after a long day. I wouldn’t go if we hadn’t been out all day because the kids energy would have been overbearing in the restaurants atmosphere.
The food was good, make sure to LISTEN OR ASK! about your dishes breakdown. The appetizers were amazing! They bring out 3 different things one serving per person the chicken meat balls were my favorite, the mushroom soup was my husbands favorite, the shrimp cocktail was great, the sauce is light and came in a bed of seaweed salad! I just felt like it didn’t pair with anything that was brought out. The kids get a charcuterie board, our 7 year olds LOVED IT! It brought cheese, grapes, carrots and cucumbers, it was a great touch. The horseradish mash potatoes paired with the prime rib was horrible! But you can order plain mashed potatoes and if I would have listened and asked I would have done that before blowing my taste buds and ruining my palate. The braised pork shank was out of this world! Outstanding!my hisband ordered the prime rib, he didn’t like it, gave it to me, I didn’t like and I ended up sending the prime rib back and ordering the braised pork shank to go. The horseradish was just to overwhelming. For dessert, it is just like the appitizers, 3 different options, one serving per person. The key lime meringue just didn’t hit the mark, with anyone at the table. The purple gelatin mousse was my son’s favorite, the poison apple was everyone else’s favorite but the taste was the same to the mousse, just different textures. So I wish they could have done something a little different with the options. The show was nice, the characters are spaced out. One by one they come by and it is very easygoing. I honestly didn’t feel pressured to rush and take photos or stop what I was doing or stop eatting to overly engage with the characters. Again, it was just such a soothing and calm atmosphere and experience. Absolutely perfect after a long day out...
Read moreThe host asked if we were celebrating anything and it was our 12 year anniversary so she gave us Happily Ever After buttons, wrong 12 "ears" for Mickey ears, and drew fun little hearts etc. on them.
The draw for this place is the atmosphere and getting to meet the characters. We met Dopey, Grumpy, and Snow White. There was also a line for taking photos with the evil queen.
But the food is also actually quite good, as we'd heard. We started with the smoking mirror scotch cocktails which were surprisingly quite nice. Smoky from the actual smoke wafting in the glass, but more on the nose, rather than the peaty quality of some scotches. I prefer less peaty scotch so that was good for me. Sweet but not overly - we both really enjoyed it.
Appetizers came quickly. Each table gets one of each with some for each person. The mushroom soup was flavorful and creamy without just tasting of cream, great pronounced mushroom flavor. The meatballs are poultry , so they're less rich than beef or pork, but still quite flavorful without being spicy and they sit in a cranberry sauce which is absolutely delightful. Sweet but not sugary. I'm not usually a fan of shrimp cocktail but the shrimp was good quality and it was a nice sauce. We were offered seconds and I wish I'd refused since I was so full by the end, but they were too good to pass up.
My husband ordered the vegetarian Stroll through nature gnocchi. It was good and less rich than I'd feared. He liked it but it was a lot of just one flavor. I usually avoid pork but it's one of my favorite meats so I splurged here for the first time in over four years and it was well worth the splurge. Succulent, tender, fall off the bone slow braised pork shank. I love polenta and it was even better with the red wine demi and juicy spinach. My husband hates polenta and liked it.
The desserts were better than we expected since we don't like uber rich or sweet desserts. They were interesting with nice textures and not too rich. But they were a little sweet for us so we couldn't quite...
