On December 11th, 2023, I walked into the Bayonne Victra location to pick up a new phone. I was told then that I qualified for a program where I would be able to pay $25/month for internet services for ten years with the Unlimited Wireless account that I already had. There was a sign advertising this as well. It seemed unbelievable, so I confirmed with the person, Eric, who was helping me with my phone. He confirmed I was eligible and repeated the same to my friend. I signed up. I was even told that Verizon would pay for the end of my contract with my current internet provider. I paid hundreds of dollars in set-up fees, but when my first bill arrived, I was charged $49.99. I called Verizon to find out what had gone wrong. Spent weeks being bounced around from Fios to Verizon Wireless who are apparently two different companies and don't talk to each other and don't assume responsibility for what independent contractors like Victra promise. The sign on the door says Verizon, how am I to know I'm walking into an independent contractor that has only a tangential relationship with Verizon. This whole thing at this point is starting to feel like a scam as I am scuttled between Fios and Verizon Wireless, one telling me that the other needed to make some change in my account to qualify me for the $25 internet program and then finally being told I don't qualify at all and that Victra gave me the wrong information. It was a miserable experience where I was gaslit and lied to; people told me they would call me back and no one ever did. Finally, I go back to Victra to speak directly to them (You have to go in because they don't answer the phone; you are sent to some answering service and then they never return your call). When I arrived, the manager Felix Yacquez, told me I needed to speak to Eric who sold me the package and that there was no telling when Eric would be in. Felix made vague comments about texting Eric and mentioned that he was diabetic. I don't believe he ever texted Eric and don't know what Eric's status as a diabetic had to do with anything. And that you don't know when your employee will be in? I felt he was lying to me. I waited for over two hours and Eric never showed up. Finally, I said to Felix, why do I need to wait for Eric if you are the manager? Finally, because I think he gathered I wasn't going away, he sent an email to some district manager who Felix said would be in touch. This was on 2/3/23. Still no one has been in touch. So I've been lied to by Victra once again. They cost me hundreds of dollars at a time I could ill afford it, giving me wrong information (I never would have changed internet providers if not for Eric telling me I qualified for this $25 program) and when I go in to get help, I am ignored and no apology or attempt to make me whole after an incompetent employee cost me hundreds of dollars. It feels like they are running a scam and I will also be reporting to the Better Business Bureau. Felix and Eric are either liars, grossly incompetent or...
Read moreTee and Adolpho are extremely rude and unprofessional. My wife had just added me to her account and I have to wait 7 days to be added as an account manager. I use my phone for business and can’t afford to wait a week with no phone. Tee proceeded with the sale all throughout considering I was looking to purchase a new phone as well as a new tablet. I had called my wife and the code was sent to her even though my wife wasn’t in the same state as me, she works in New York. Prior to going in, I called and was told I would only have to pay taxes on the device. During the transaction, I had my friend on the phone with me that has 7 years of experience at Victra. I was quoted $40 to set up a phone and $30 for a tablet. From my experience, I thought those fees were only $20 and $15 respectively. Tee called the manager Adolpho because he wasn’t in the store and once I mentioned that I wouldn’t pay a setup and go fee, he said that they can’t proceed with the transaction because I’m not an account manager. Up until I wasn’t willing to pay for those unnecessary fees, they proceeded with everything. My friend said to Adolpho, “ you shouldn’t have proceeded with the transaction in the first place if I wasn’t on the account” and Adolpho immediately said he’ll call back. This would have made sense to me if everything wasn’t being proceeded with up until I wanted the fees waived. Worst of all, Tee said something very nasty to me. “That I can’t tell her what she can and can’t do and to get off the phone with my boyfriend”. Never would I expect someone that works in customer service to make a comment regarding my sexuality which is completely irrelevant to the context of a transaction. My wife and I are huge advocates for the LGBTQ community as we have multiple friends and family members that are apart of it. I am extremely disappointed that a store that represents Verizon would have employees that would ever say such a thing to a customer. I have already reached out to Victra customer care and will also be leaving a review with the better business...
Read moreI don’t recommend this Verizon store to anyone, I was trading in my iPhone 12 for iPhone 16 they gave me an appointment to pick up my new iPhone. when I went to pick it up they told me sorry we sold it to somebody else, so they have to reorder another iPhone 16 , they said they will call when the order arrives. few days later they called to let me know my phone has arrived, when I went to pick it up, they refused to give it to me because I had to take an appointment first even when my new phone is in the store already, finally they gave it to me after some arguments. after two weeks I returned my old iPhone and once again they refused to take it , they said I have only one week to return in my old iPhone , I really don’t know why they said that when Verizon gives the customer 30 days to return the old phone. again it was another argument but this time one worker started to be very aggressive, she called me nasty, rude, and discriminator and she repeated that several times, when I told them I am going to report that to Verizon they finally agreed to receive my old iPhone, I called Verizon customer service and explained what happened but they didn’t take any action so far , I am really shocked and disappointed. how dare workers in famous company like Verizon treat people...
