The ambiance, 5/5. The food, 5/5. The service was okay up until the end. We were a party of four and split our bill between two checks. While we were in process of filling out our receipts, the wait staff were quick to grab the check from us...red flag #1.
One of the two checks had the entire tip which my wife paid. As I was getting ready to leave, our waiter stopped me and kept asking me why there was only a tip on one of the receipts but not the other. I informed him we tipped and both receipts were signed...what is the problem!?! He then proceed to run through the restaurant and outside to stop my wife & companions to question the receipt. My wife informed him we put it all on one of the two receipts. He then had the nerve to question why we did not leave 18%. My wife (who has experience in the hospitality industry) informed our rude waiter that the tip is a privilege and at the customer's discretion. Tips were added for six or more guests and we were only four in party. Nevertheless he continued to press the issue to my wife who got furious and ran inside to speak with the manager. The manager instructed the waiter to go away, offered us nothing in consolation except to fire the waiter since "this wasn't the first time" and told us to give them a second chance.
In all my years of dining out, my wife and I have never been so appalled by such a low-brow tactic by the waitstaff. I would have been happy to recommend them, but with this event occurring who would want to go out to eat, and have your meal & day ruined at the end?!?! I have received more courtesy and praise for my business at a McDonald's than here and that is truly a shame.
Be warned before you step foot inside. We will never...
Read moreCame here on Valentine’s Day and it was very busy! We were told the wait was 20-30 min but it only turned out to be 15. And it was good you can leave since they call you anyway. It’s in a strip mall so other shopping and things to do. Half the place is hibachi and other half is tables for sushi. You can order hibachi at the tables too. There is also a bar you can sit at in the back. Decor is nice, pretty casual with pops of color like the red glowing from some of the tables on the left side.
Waitresses were nice and attentive even though it was busy. They did forget to give us a menu but we looked ahead of time and knew what we wanted. We got the sushi for 2 which came on a boat, presentation was very nice. The sushi was very fresh, no complaints. Came with soup and salad for both of us. Food was very good but sushi is not filling so we split an eel roll. And then we each got fried ice cream for dessert and we each had a cocktail. Close to $100 for the bill. The fried ice cream was delicious, very light tempura batter they put on it. Definitely not pre made. And the green tea ice cream was a great strong green tea flavor, sometimes green tea ice cream just tastes like vanilla but no this was the real deal. Sake sampler my husband got he liked a lot and I got the blue lagoon drink which was very sweet and tropical tasting. I like blue curaçao so that’s why I got it. And it was good!
I would want to come back and sit on the hibachi side next time. That side sounded like they were having a lot of fun lol. Overall good experience and...
Read moreAlthough service was quick it was lacking and a bit dull. Usually I’m tolerate of a bit of rudeness in restaurants if the food is amazing, however the food was barely okay. And I’m confident of this because I was coming off a 24 hr fast, when you’re super hungry anything taste good; however this wasn’t the case. The shrimp was okay, the steak was lacking flavor and chicken tasted as if it may been past its expiration date. Ginger Wings we’re served with a sad excuse of spicy mayo and had 0 flavor. It taste more like banana king’s pink sauce then spicy mayo. Honestly the wings were crispy but dry and not much meat on them.
I asked for a container for my leftovers and she just threw them on the table, when I asked for a bag to carry them in she responded “in the front” I get up to the front and asked the woman at the front desk and she just threw the bag at me. No “hope you enjoyed” or “thank you, come again”
Although I wasn’t a fan I walked away from that experience and was just happy I had ate. Immediately after driving off I couldn’t help but sense an uncomfortable in my gut and thought to myself I hope sim not experience food poisoning. Just what I experience when I got home can’t be shared, I...
