I ordered my food at 7:58pm I didn’t receive my food until 8:43pm. I ordered 10 tenders and fried rice. Being in the business, I checked my food - they gave me a small half pint size order of fried rice, for $13.99. That’s absurd, I asked, and the friendly cashiers said “uhh yeah I don’t know why They did that” and it was cold.
I checked with them at the 25 min mark, and they said “ online order backed them up” so I understand, I waited, 10 mins later, the one girl was like “your name on the list , you gotta wait.”
I said I have been waiting 35 mins at this point, so she went in the kitchen and started working on it, almost 15 min later I got my food. They could have offered a drink while we wait, a refund for the inconvenience or something but they just kept talking to themselves. Or simple tell us it’s going to be a while.
To the food review, rice was good, but not worth 13.99 for a small pint at all, it’s a $4.99 charge at a local Chinese spot, chicken was good but the spicy is spicy. Be aware.
But my opinion, The customer service is terrible, as a place that just opened up and hearing them turn away customer after customer because Uber eats had a priority is such a huge turn off. In no time, this place will have a closed sign on the building and the lease sign will go back up, if they continue to turn people away. Owners- I understand making money is necessary, but when you turn away new customers, in a new location , you probably just lost a customer forever in...
Read moreToo early to complain about the staff & wait times. The business has only been open for a week. So there’s bound to be some kinks that they need to work out. From what I know the business was originally supposed to open May 8 but was push back for two weeks due to staff quitting on them as being trained. This was mentioned to my husband when passed by to go to GameStop & they were having a food tasting. My first job ever was working at Chicken Factory in Hoboken they also sell Korean wings. I was always told about Bonchon in downtown Jersey City. It was a really bummer when they close the location But I was super excited once I learned that they would be coming to Bayonne. I was there around 30 minutes max for my food & everything was amazing. Never knew how big their menu was till I stepped inside the store. In the past my father-in-law could grab food before coming home from work. I ordered the bao buns, tacos & 10 wings. The wings were cooked great & very juicy. I did a half-and-half of soy garlic and Korean BQQ. Not a fan of the Korean barbecue sauce, but the soy garlic has always been my favorite. I ordered a box of 10 wings, got 8 wings & 2 boneless. Which puzzled me because after I ordered my food boneless was sold out. Unfortunately, by the time I realized I was already home. Definitely will be giving it a try once things die down & staffed has been...
Read moreToday, i came in first time to try bonchon chicken in my area, thinking that they will be the same as they had in Jersey city. Overall taste is ok. But it was more like juicy chicken. I mean i didn’t mean like it was bad but you know Korean chicken should be a little bit more crunchy rather than juicy chicken. That was the one i used to have it in Jersey City. Back then, i remember one korean guy was cooking fried chicken. Over here, the staffs are more diverse and um i feel that cooking staffs need a little more training.
Anyway it was alright overall. But i wish cooking staffs have more training on how to make chicken more crispy and crunchy.
It will be alright for awhile. It was ok but i think you guys...
