I called the store to ask about their blue and green tag sale. The woman I spoke with was knowledgeable and very helpful. Their customer service is excellent. When I arrived, the store was well organized. Everything was in its place, labeled per category. I was amazed by how immaculate the place was. There are bathrooms located in the back of the store. The water facet is off limits, due to potential contamination. They have carts and baskets. The prices are great! They have a statue of Saint Vincent De Paul outside their store! I thought that was a bonus feature of this SVDP location. They also have a rewards program with a card and smaller keychain card. The donation center is super easy to use! You just drive to the back and fill up these large boxes with your things. I suggest putting your donations in bags/boxes you don't plan to keep. These boxes are huge! The woman at the counter gave me a ticket after I asked her where the donation center was and she explained it to me. What a well organized SVDP location! I was so impressed. They had a nice selection of most things. The toys were well situated and dolls were wrapped in plastic bags. It was very nice to see. Interestingly, too, they have a silent auction section. I just sort of skimmed through one section of it and then carried on with my business. They have a Facebook page where you can inquire more about it, if...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne particular day, I came there, and was blatantly treated as if I was there to steal. Thankfully a kind manager was there. I thank her for her understanding. Not long ago, upon returning, this treatment was repeated. By those peddling donated goods. I, of course, couldn't help but notice the other customers perusing unbothered, with items of equal size. But, I was asked to leave my choices at the counter, for fear I might pilfer DONATED GOODS! I'm ridiculously identifiable. I am generally there for religious books. I have a penchant for worn out costume jewelry. It was once cherished. It meant something to someone. It's like a forgotten story, it's true value negated, a fogged window into a life lived. 2 years of patronage, now I'm treated in a manner that is shameful. Two theives are unnamed, in the Gospel Of Luke. One called The Good Theif. The Penitent Theif. The Wise Theif. The Grateful Theif. Saint Dismus. Saint Nicholas gets an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI normally love SVDP thrift stores. I go to the one by my place in Port at least weekly (they are so amazing!) I got some great deals and the store was well kept. I also met a couple of very nice employees. Unfortunately, Kayla (or Kaylee?) I might be wrong on the name. Short, white, dark hair, young. Throughout my time shopping she gave me dirty looks no matter how many times I smiled at her. I didn't need a smile back... but then after I checked out I had multiple carts due to fragile and one of the cashiers asked her to help me to my car and without looking up she says "I'm on lunch." I would never ask someone to work through their lunch and honestly I would have said no it was fine anyways because they were busy and I was okay.... but the sheer rudeness of this employee. She needs a job out of customer service if she can't offer...
