I personally would like to thank every member of staff at Green Planet. These people are true professionals who care about their customers. The way they took care of me tonight was phenomenal, and I couldn't thank them enough. If you don't want the full story, skip to the bottom and I'll sum it up. But I feel my experience is important to share.
While waiting in line another customer sitting near me made a crude and masoginistic comment about my appearance (I was wearing a tight, but appropriate, dress with tights.) He then continued to casually mention to another customer that he just got out of serving 23 years in prison, and, despite only having had one beer, he was f*ed up. This guy was big and scary, he made me very uncomfortable.
This was too quiet for the staff to hear. The only person that heard what he was saying was another gentleman standing about 4 feet away from me. Everybody else either tuned him out, or were too far away to hear what he was saying. After a while he turned the conversation back to my appearance while also making indistinguishable remarks about the gentleman next to me. The man then got up, lumbered over to the gentleman next to me, and I heard him ask, slurring, "Hey, is this your girl? I don't want to be disrespectful.." The gentleman calmly told the man that he WAS being disrespectful and that he should go sit down. The man wouldn't leave. The gentleman looked at me then turned to the man and began to repeat himself. That's when I felt very scared and realized I needed to leave. I went back to the car where my boyfriend was waiting. Shaking and crying told him what had happened, he walked me back inside. We flagged down management, explaining to them what had just happened.
That's when Green Planet made it their personal responsibility to see to it that I felt safe. These ladies and gentlemen were fantastic. They asked me to point the man out, then they kindly approached him, asking if he had been drinking. The man said, "Well, only one beer!" Management informed this man that, unfortunately, they were not legally allowed to sell him marijuana if he was under the influence of alcohol, but that he could come back tomorrow. He didn't really seem to have any objections to this news, but it did take him a while to vacate the building. While we were waiting for him to leave, they let me skip the line and took good care of me. Both men behind the counter thanked me for my business and were very kind.
Management called the non-emergency police, had me wait in a secure room until the man was out of the building, then 3 or 4 staff members walked me and my boyfriend to my car, thanking me again and apologizing once more.
TL;DR: Man makes gross comment about my appearance and makes me feel unsafe. Green Planet staff acted professionally, without creating conflict. Made my safety their priority. Very professional. Much wow.
These people really care about...
Read moreThey claim to be the best, but not in my opinion. The store is just too big in my opinion. The system they use just doesn't work well. They should just have multiple counters in which people can purchase from. The budtenders are hit and miss with their knowledge and experience, and I think its because they just offer so much that their employees cant give information on everything they have. Their pricing can be competitive, but their quality is all over the place. I stopped going there after buying stuff that was supposed to be mid to higher tier quality, and it just wasn't there. If you want to save some serious money, you can get a good deal for your money, but beware the quality of the cheap stuff. They do accept cards as payment, but as of the last time I was there, you had to enroll in their rewards program to do so. Its not much to sign up, but still seems unnecessary. They do have some good deals and sales, plus a large selection of edibles, tinctures, shatter, wax, THC vape pens, etc. They also carry some non THC vaping supplies too, but that may have changed since I was last there. Parking can be a nightmare during busiest hours, specially on Canyon Road. I believe there is some overflow parking nearby, but its not obvious if your'e a new customer. Staff can be hit and miss too. I have had a few people help me that were obviously stoned. Fine, I get it, you're selling marijuana, but it comes off unprofessional to me and really slows things down. The times I visited, I regularly had to wait. They have enough staff to be helping more people than they do. Plus they do this thing where the cashiers are separate from the people getting you your product. This can cause some confusion, specially if the person procuring your order messes up something. Just have multiple counters to pay at and have the cashiers grab what the customer wants. That way they know exactly what they are ringing up on the register. Its okay to have separate lines for people buying just flower or just edibles. I think it would move people through quicker.
TL;DR Cheap and inexpensive options. Large store with variety, but maybe too much. Weird and inefficient check out system. Does have a rewards program and daily deals. They claim to have the best quality of bud, but that has not been my experience--perhaps the $20 a gram strains are? You can find better quality and better deals...
Read moreThe reason why my rating is so high is because there was a situation with the customer that was not happy with what she was trying to pick up, and she did not like the fact that she had taxs, or didn't remember that's she was going to be chargred taxes for her products and she complained about being carded before she even asked for what she wanted. And everytime that I've been in their since they have been opened I have always been carded each time that I've been their and I have no problem shana my id and it's the law everyone that is old enough should know that your going to get carded it's like a liquor store. She made a big scene over something she was trying to get, but at she still wasn't able to purchase her product due to problems with her card, and after several attempts with her card, they had to ask her to leave because she was also having problems paying as well. She stayed for about five minutes of them repetitively asking her to leave , I throw in the towel in the defence of of the budtender, because the customer that they tending was down right disrespectful to about three budtenders, and two other customers. This all happened when I was trying to get my products and cashing out so after that five minutes of them repetitively asking her to leave I turned to her and said two words and she finally got it and left. And I really appreciate the owner for having employees that actually do there job which is carding everyone that walks through the doors like the law says as well. And that take the time and explain the pro's and con's of your questions that you may have. And if you only have a set amount they will work with you so you don't go over your...
