Went bed shopping today. Started at Dania...by my house...where I was treated like a homeless guy asking to use the bathroom.
Didn't even know these guys, but stopped in on my way to the other stores on Beaverton-Hillsdale highway. I didn't end up going anywhere else.
The AMERICAN MADE (in Indiana) solid wood furniture is amazing...wait until you see the massive brackets that hold the beds together! Nothing like those cam buttons and anchors in particle board like you see at IKEA. In fact, I didn't see anything that was laminate.
Within 10 minutes, I selected the solid maple roll back bed and HAND MADE IN USA quilt in the photo, made a great deal, and the proprietor arranged a way to deliver it to my house immediately...like in 30 minutes.
This bed is solid as a rock. The headboard doesn't even move when I lean against it. Assembly took maybe 10 minutes with one tool...a 13mm wrench...and no instructions were required. Simple.
I hate shopping (except food...lol) and that includes furniture shopping, but my experience today at Amish Traditions was an exception to that. They were pleasant, helpful, fair, and didn't even collect info like other places, so I won't be bombarded with emails.
Did I spend more than I would have at Dania...No. (well, maybe if I bought freight damaged with scratches and dings)
Did I spend more than IKEA? Probably a little, but not much. And I got something much better for my money.
Next piece of furniture I replace, my first stop will be Amish Traditions. If you're buying furniture, stop here and compare their American Made solid wood pieces with what you see elsewhere. Be sure to ask where it's made...support American...
Read moreI found Amish Traditions after going to the local Stickley Furniture store to buy home office furniture. Even though the Stickley store was having a sale, I was shocked by the price and there were no options as to the type of wood or finish for the desk I wanted. The exact opposite was true at Amish Traditions. In addition to the furniture that is on the floor, there are tons of books to order from in any wood and finish you desire at a fraction of the cost. The quality is excellent, and the furniture will last more than a lifetime. Additionally, you can work with the salesperson to customize the size and look of the item that you order. Jim, the person I have worked with now on a number of orders is excellent, nice, helpful and is very low pressure. This is not my "go to"...
Read moreWe found the perfect chair with Robert's help. After looking at quite a few furniture stores, both in person and on-line, we just couldn't find what we wanted. After a few minutes at Amish Traditions, Robert made some suggestions, offered some idea, listened to our concerns and came up with a solution.
The store has a very relaxed atmosphere where you can look at any piece of furniture and consider every idea. I'd suggest this as a first stop when you are furniture shopping. You will save time and frustration caused by looking in...
