I really wanted to give these guys a good score, but My hubby and I had problems just getting info, about a 2012 Honda Goldwing Trike, from our salesman, finally getting the manager, Aaron, to help us out.
We bought it back in July. There was a delay in getting it “inspected” to see if it needed something, and finally they did that. It needed two new rear tires and some other minor things. Then, there was a delay in the tires arriving, when we thought they were already there, then not there. The communications or updates were bad. So, we had to keep calling or texting for updates on the tires. Then getting that done once they arrived.
Then, I had to keep changing the pick up dates, for our delivery guy, (to deliver it from Tx to Va) since they were dragging their feet getting it “ready” and detailed for delivery.
Days went by, when we got different answers on when it would be ready, and more excuses why it won’t be ready. The cost for it to be detailed was built in so we were happy to have them do that, but I was told “its next in line” then to find out it wasn't next, and so on.
Finally, it was done and ready to go. I got my transport guy there, and off they went, but… WAIT.. there’s more!
We couldn't get a clear answer when our hard tags and registration would be sent to us, as the paper tag was going to expire at some point and we are taking it on a trip in the near future. I had told them about this trip, back when we were looking and why we needed to move things along. At that point there was time to do all of these things but now it was getting down to the wire.
At first, I was told we can choose to have the tags mailed to us or pick them up at our local DMV. No way would we want to take the chance of picking them up, so I asked for them to be mailed to me. Turns out, nope, you have to go to dmv and if you dont get them within 2 to 3 days, they will mail them to the main office in Richmond, Va Dmv (hours from herndon).
The dealer’s Title lady doesn't really title much, she turned it all over to a 3rd party that does the titling and handling of getting us hooked up with Va dmv, to get a tag.
Weeks go by, I stay on top of her and the manager, to do something. So finally, the title lady, Emily, offered to bypass this 3rd party company (who she said she cant tell me who they are, so that i can stay on them to get it going). so, I wait more days. (tick tock). She said the bank, where they had us do the financing, was not getting her the info she needs to get it to our DMV. I had to press her to get on them about it. More days go by. She said she was out sick a couple of days but as we were on the phone, she shuffled around some papers and found it. She promised to mail it that Friday, priority mail, to our local dmv and get me a tracking number. No reply later, on friday, no tracking number!
Days go by, so I called Emily again, no reply. I had to keep bothering poor Aaron (manager) over and over to get her to do something. She had NOT done anything with it yet, he said. He got her to send the info and finally, it got to DMV overnight. We got the call from them (which is a miracle - lol) and got the tag and registration, leaving us just a few days left to get it “va” inspected, before our trip. You cant get it inspected without a Va registration. DMV was confused and asked why we paid tax there, and got a check from them for the taxes, in all that paperwork. I said I had no idea, they said they can represent Va and take taxes in the full contract.
What a mess!! Aaron (manager) is a great guy, but like I told. him, he needs to do some house cleaning there. It kind of sounded like he won’t be making any changes, maybe its family, or friends more than “just” coworkers.
I would NOT order a bike from there EVER again.
We chose to deal with them as they had a good score here, with google, but wow, did we learn the hard way, it would be quite the opposite for us.

Under no circumstances should you take your motorcycle here for any type of repair. I was rear ended at a red light on 4/1/2023. Brought it into the shop the same day. I had to work with my insurance to get things started and they had an estimator go out to complete their estimate on 4/11/2023. The shop called me around 8/15/2023 to let me know the repairs were done and it was ready to go. 4 months due to the shop claiming parts were unavailable. What did they need to replace? Left grip, clutch lever, foot peg and shift peg, derby cover, and left shock. Apparently took 4 months to get all that. I went to the shop about a week after they called. They put on different and cheaper rear shocks than what I went in with, stating they were out of stock. I checked the website, and they were right there ready to ship. I went in with progressive 412’s and they put on Burly shocks. They didn’t even call me and let me know or get my approval, they just did it on their own. The derby had not been replaced either, so the bike was in fact, not ready to go. At this point, they also tried to charge me to the second grip since they are sold in pairs. I asked if they had installed it if they expected me to pay for it, and they told me they had not installed it. They wanted me to pay for something that should be covered by insurance then not install the part and keep it for themselves.
They said they would get the correct shocks on and fix the derby and would let me now when it was actually done. They called me around 9/20 to let me know the bike was done so I went to verify given the past issue and it was in fact done. It took 5 months for the repairs for parts I could have ordered and gotten delivered in less than 2 weeks. I went last weekend, 9/30/2023 to pick the bike up. The shop lost my license plate and is having to order a new one, no clue if that will be out of stock or not…I also noticed after getting it home that when they put on the left foot peg, they used a chrome stem. So, I have a chrome piece on the left side and black on the right side.
I cannot recommend enough that you take your bike literally anywhere else for repairs. I was also informed by my insurance adjuster that the shop was planning on trying to charge me over $200 for an estimate fee, even though they never even did an estimate on my bike, but my adjuster was able to explain to them that they can’t do that. They never called or updated me on the progress, I would send 3-5 emails asking about it before getting a response. They didn’t call about parts being out of stock and just decided to do whatever they wanted without any approval from me. They tried to falsely charge me for things that were either covered by insurance or shouldn’t have been charged in the first place. I have a bike I still can’t ride because I don’t even have a license plate because they lost it. Do you really want to have a shop work on your bike if they can’t even manage to keep track of a...
Read moreI have never financed a vehicle or leased one. I was very naiive and chose to believe what I was being told by the employees of AmericanMTC. I wanted to purchase a 2014 Ducati Streetfighter 848 . My credit was crappy at the time so the financing guy/insurance agent David told me I could actually lease to own the bike, which he stated would actually be cheaper than financing it over a year period. This was a pretty confusing process, which I'm sure is by design. Maybe I'm just stupid, who knows. I paid 3500 down on an $8500 motorcycle. Was told my monthly payments would be $231 for 48 months. The amount to be financed according to the paperwork was roughly $5000. My total paid at end of lease will be $11,100. As if that's not bad enough. To keep the bike i had to choose that as an option, which costs a $400 fee, i also have to pay an $1800 residual. They charged me $6000 to financing a $8500 motorcycle. So the $3500 was for what?? I kept asking why it seemed like so much money and it was never really clear to me that I would end up paying what I am actually having to pay. How the heck is over $6k on an 8500 motorcycle cheaper than what the interest would be on a loan for it for 4-6yrs. I really regret doing business here and will never make this mistake again. I feel like a fool. Currently exploring what My options are. Maybe I can buy my way out?? So don't fall for the leasing to own option scam. A pretty expensive lesson to learn bur boy have i learned it. Just absolutely insane. I assumed the 3500 was going towards the cost of the bike, yet they charged me $6k as a rental fee. I really should have just left. Now I have am amazing credit score and make great money. I will definitely take my business to a more trustworthy motorcycle dealer. I should have asked for this all to be explained to me and broken down to an understandable version for idiots who have never leased or financed a single thing ever. I'm literally sick rn. If I have this all wrong and I don't owe a criminal amount of money for this motorcycle, fell Free to...
