I am 73 years old and have been a member of this fitness center and many others, off and on, for about 30 years. I decided to work on improving my health again about 6 months ago, so I re-joined. The workout area has been nicely redone & equipped since I last worked out there. The mgt., training and front desk staff has also changed drastically for the better. I feel very comfortable & welcome there. The members include older folks like me but a lot of nice younger folks too. I've made several friends. The camaraderie helps me look forward to going each day to see the other regulars. I am using their virtual program and fitness app, which gives me latitude to work out when I want, which is important to me. It also helps me with dietary choices in a way that isn't overwhelming. I recently combined the virtual program with a weekly in-person workout with the personal trainer to make sure my form is good and that I'm executing the program and exercises as intended. Leo, the trainer, is very personable and systematic and seems to have different strokes for different folks. This is the best workout arrangement I've had and I've had many over my many years. If you are looking for a friendly place that has a good set of programs and classes, give this place a try. I am pleased with the results I am seeing and love the...
Read moreI can't say enough about this location. I am there for the Cardiac Rehab following bypass surgery. It takes a lot of motivation to make a physical comeback and to attend the sessions but the staff is why I persevere. They are with you every step of the way. I really appreciate how much time they spend with you. They are encouraging, patient, and understanding. The rehab program is very good!
However this is also a general fitness center for non-cardiac patients. There is a full range of machines, free weights, a walking course, etc. along with locker rooms and lockers on the floor if you just need to lock up your personal items. There are water fountains with dispensers for water bottles. That's a real convenience. There's a nice eating and resting area with tables. The center is located near HEB Hospital. It's a bit difficult to see it from the airport freeway access road. Follow the signs to the hospital and watch for the fitness center just before the hospital entrance.
My only complaint is access to the building is poor. The designer put the front on the side opposite of the parking area so you must walk around the building to get to the entrance. Maybe it was planned so you get some walking done?
All in all, a good center. I enjoy...
