If it were possible to give a negative star rating on a restaurant, I would do so. We entered the IHOP near AirportFreeway and Westpark Way around 6 pm and there were at most, two tables occupied in the entire place... parking lot was almost empty. The blonde woman who is supposed to greet us, sees us come in, turns her back and goes back toward the kitchen without any greeting. She finally returns and seats us. Eventually, a server comes to take our order. He returns with our salads. Salads are drowning in Ranch dressing. Dressing is usually served on the side so I didn't think I had to request that. ( I almost sent the salads back because they were just unappetizing, but I was really hungry so didn't even comment. ) When the food came out, our broccoli was not cooked... not even warm. I asked the server if he could get it steamed some more. He brought out a bowl and had both of us put our uncooked broccoli into that bowl. Note: I prepare broccoli at home so I know it does not take more than three minutes to steam it in a microwave. We waited and waited as our other food cooled. Server finally brought the bowl of broccoli back. Some of it was warmed a little, but it was still undercooked. We ate the few pieces that were warm and were then ready for a check. Server never returned to give us a check. (Nor did he ever offer refills on our drinks.) We went to the register to see if we could check out. There is a sign that says to pay server not at register. So we started looking around for the server. He finally appeared and we told him we were ready for a check. He rudely orderd us to GO SIT BACK DOWN. We had already tried that... had waited a LONG time seated, so chose to remain where we were. He finally came out, told us a total so we could pay and get out of there. He was extremely curt and rude.
While we had been sitting and waiting for service and for a check, we had seen him and the blonde woman employee outdoors. She was smoking and he was talking to her. Considering the fingerprints and handprints and other smudges on the glass partitions between booths, it seems employee time would be better spent with a bottle of Windex than hanging out in the parking lot.
I don't know how this place keeps its doors open. I might check back in a few months to see if there is new management. Tried calling today to confirm name of the manager. Phone rang 20 times and was never answered.
IHOP needs to be more careful about the persons to whom they franchise their locations. Seems if there were ANY oversight, this kind of poor management would not be an issue. Of course, there is a corporate number, but nobody answers.
Since I couldn't learn the name of current manager, I won't be able in future to verify a change so I am done with this location and probably ALL IHOP locations. It's a shame because I have gone there for at least...
Read moreMy two sisters (K and W) and I went to this place on Sunday afternoon arriving at 5:30 pm. The parking lot was virtually empty, as was the restaurant. We were seated quickly, and placed our orders (K ordered a salad with crispy chicken, and W ordered the same salad with grilled chicken) and I ordered an omelett with hashbrowns. I had coffee and they had water. My coffee was cold and strong and obviously left over from a very early-made pot. We chatted and shared facebook stuff for about 45 minutes, when W went to the window at the cook station to inquire as to the status of our order. "it will be right out" was the response. 6 or 7 minutes later, it arrived at our table. Huge portions of salad, and a nice omelett, even though it was almost cold and the shredded cheese that was scattered on the entire omelett and plate was not melted and it too was cold. W took one bite of her chicken and immediately spit it out stating that it tasted like wood and was difficult of not impossible to chew. We called the water over and she explained to him about the chicken and asked if she could get the crispy chicken like was on K's salad. "sure" was the response. Within 2 or 3 minutes the waiter actually brought the dressing for their salads (one bowl for the 2 of them to share). W was almost done with her greens when the plate of crispy chicken arrived. It too was almost cold. I had asked for a fresh pot of coffee and it eventually arrived but was so strong i couldn't enjoy it. Our check arrived, and we went to the front to check out. Keep in mind that at this point there were EXACTLY 11 patrons in the restaurant (including the 3 of us). We waited at the front counter for well over 5 minutes, and when no one came, we put the money and check on the register and left. Had we not been honest, we could have slipped out without paying - i wondered how often that happened, actually.
I've eaten at this particular IHOP dozens of times in the 35 years I've lived in Bedford. I have always been pleased with the service and food. Never again will I eat here. There is a nice, new IHOP on 121 near Grapevine that will be getting my IHOP business from now on. Very...
Read moreWe have been eating at IHOP for many, many years. Not only this location but others as well. Always fresh and hot food along with good service. Today 4/9/25 was a much different experience regarding the service. Arrived at 11am for any early lunch. There were approx 7 or 8 other tables occupied. The server came to take our drink order (which was 2 unsweet ICED teas). Teas came with a few melting ice cubes floating around on top. This is Texas......we like ICED tea. When it came to ordering our food, I asked the server about something that we have had numerous times but I didnt see it on the menu. She just said "no more - no more". She said it hasnt been on the menu for 3 or 4 years. Well, that's simply not true but oh well. So we ordered something else and I asked her to please have them put mustard on it. She said ok. A minute or two later she walks by and slams a mustard bottle down on the table and kept walking. So I guess mustard is "serve yourself" now. About 15 minutes later the food came out. She had to have noticed that our tea glasses were almost empty but she never offered to refill them before she walked away. At this point I wanted to see how long it would take her to come back by to check on us. We ate our complete meal and were ready to leave. Then she comes by and offered more tea. I told her we would have liked refills when our food came out but now it's too late and I asked for the check. I told her how disappointed we were in her service. She actually looked surprised when I told her that. I said that the other servers were checking on their tables but we received no such service. We walked right passed her while leaving and she didnt say "thank you" or anything. She was telling another table "no more - no more" when they asked about something that wasnt on the menu. I am not going to give her name but she has been there for a very long time and we have had her before. Maybe she was having a bad day BUT her bad day just lost IHOP customers for good. We will never step foot in...
