Brought in 12 books to sell. Mostly non-fiction and all relatively new and in top shape. Went shopping while they came up with an offer. Had every intention on buying more books and use my credits that I would receive from selling them my books. 15 minutes later I get a call to the back counter and they offered me a whopping $1.50 for all of my books. That’s less than 12 cents per book. Meanwhile, while shopping, I spotted a couple of the books I was selling for $9.99 and another for $12.99… etc.
All this to say, this place is greedy. The prices on the books are not that great. Even for very well-loved and written-in books are priced high. I saw previously highlighted and written in books on sale for WAY too much. And the fact that they pay us so very little for our books is a joke.
From now on I’ll be looking for better thrifty book stores, or just buy online since the there is little to no price difference from this store anyway. And I encourage anyone thinking to sell their books here, to perhaps consider donating them to local charities, libraries, and schools instead. At least your books will be more...
Read moreThis is an excellent place to sell normal books, you won't get much but something. Do not take anything signed or limited, you'll never know what to expect. I took a $300.00 book in to sell and receive $110.00. That was the one good one. I've taken in many signed limited and if the guy with the twisted mustache is working you will not get much at all. I took in lettered edition books valued at $300.00 and he low balls EVERYTIME, he offered $50.00!!! They are now on in the case listed at the current value and I feel ripped off. I had no choice but to sell and went back yesterday with 3 books, all signed numbered limited editions with completed sales to verify equalling around $275.00. They offered $55.00!!! I feel absolutely taken, I'm in jam and had no choice but to accept. I guarantee they will be in the locked case AT FULL VALUE! Do not sell if twisted mustache man is working, just leave he will majorly low ball you and leave you feeling taken advantage of during the sale. Bedford,TX I wouldn't even be making this review if I didn't get a fair enough sale beforehand. Good staff, and a great place...
Read moreI took 115 magazine/books in for an offer. A lot of the books were like brand new, Southern living cookbooks hardback excellent condition several other good cookbooks and many taste of home and other magazines still in plastic I was there over an hour. While I was waiting for my offer the very rude kid behind the counter looked up at me and asked me what I wanted I told her I was waiting for my offer and she told me I can go walk around or sit at the table. I didn't come there to shop nor did I want to sit, however I walked around most of the time I spent there I got really bored so I walked over to where they were going through the books making offers the rude girl going through my books looked up at me and asked me if I had a question I said no I'm standing here waiting for my offer like I have been here for over an hour. Finally I got my offer WOW $2. Long story short good books will go to Goodwill at least I can write them off and any other magazines /books will be thrown in the...
