Green Tea House — Restaurant in Bedford

It pains me to say this, but if you want consistently bad experience, this is the place for you. When we moved to Bedford in 2017 I'd order from MoonWok almost every week for 4 years. About three years ago they started going downhill, and two years ago it just became unbearable. Rumor is that ownership changed. We decided to give them a try last year for the first time in two years and the food was subpar to put it politely (the salt and pepper chicken wings came in a paper bag instead of the normal container, which soaked through and leaked jalepeno and grease all over the other containers. The spring rolls came with literal peanut butter instead of a typical peanut sauce, and the flat noodles were sauceless and dry). We said "never again". This past Saturday we were hungover and decided to give it another go for old times sake. We ordered online at 3:30pm. At 4:45 I called because the food had not yet been delivered and the ETA was 30-60 minutes. They told us it was delivered to the wrong house by mistake, that they would remake it and deliver within 30 minutes. 45 minutes later, at 5:30, it had still not arrived. I called and asked for a refund and to cancel my order, but they refused the refund and said that the order was on the way. It had been literally 2 hours at this point, and the food did arrive while I was on the phone with them so I hung up just to be done with it. The food was hot and fresh, but... tasteless. Chinese food can sometimes be too salty, but never have i had bland Chinese food! They called about an hour later and offered me 50% off my next order, but I there was no reference or code or coupon or anything they could give me, they just said they would remember. This was the first time I ordered from Moon Wok and unfortunately it will be my last. I ordered from Moon Wok because they had 4.4 stars, even though my daughter wanted to go with a different restaurant. Now I wish I would have listened to her. We were ordering for five people, so some of the items we ordered were doubled to make sure there was enough for everyone. The food was horrible. The egg foo young were bland (2 orders). The General Tso’s chicken wings and the fried wings (2 orders), tasted funky as if they were going bad, but they fried them anyway. The 3 orders of General Tso’s chicken were tasteless, as well as the 2 orders of Chicken Lo Mein and the 2 orders of Chicken fried rice. The 2 orders of Crab Rangoons and the 2 orders of Fried Chicken dumplings, were ok, but the spring rolls were not. After one bite, I spat it out and threw the rest (2 of them), in the garbage. One of the containers of the gravy for the egg foo young, was spilled in the bottom of the shopping bag because they stacked them on top of one another and the top of the bottom gravy container melted and the container of gravy sitting on top, sunk into the bottom one, thus spilling all the gravy into the bottom of the shopping bag. This was one of the worst Chinese meals I have ordered to be disappointed, not by one dish, but just about all of them. We were all quite hungry, so we did get some of the food down us, but no seconds here, the rest, which was a majority of the food, unfortunately went into the garbage. $128.39 down the drain. 3/31/2022 UPDATE - Today's order was a disaster. Ordered through Uber Eats. The order I received was not mine. And the order I did receive was still missing items according to the receipt. (see pics for what I ordered vs what I got)

I tried this place for the 1st time yesterday. From the time the order was placed online order to the time of delivery was 55 minutes. When I called to inquire about the delivery, the lady I spoke with was very nice & let me know it was on the way. The gentleman that delivered it was also very nice.

We ordered a cup of Hot & Sour Soup xtra spicy, General Tsos Chicken xtra spicy lunch special & a california roll.

Their menu states ALL lunch specials come w/ an eggroll, but our order did not come with one.

The hot & sour soup had good flavor, but very little tofu & there was probably 1/4c of red chilli flakes in the bottom. First time Ive ordered xtra spicy hot & sour soup & had it filled w/ chili flakes like that.

General Tsos Chicken was also good, but again first time ordering xtra spicy and having it covered in chili pepper flakes. And while most chinese takeout places give you a ton of food, Moon Wok doesn't. It's still enough for 2 (if you want to share) but no leftovers.
