I was excited to come here and find good items especially since it was a Christian store, but everything was expensive or still the same price of something new; when it was clearly worn down and missing parts of it. It was completely strange, everything was a fire hazard walking in there. There was a section that clearly had no sign no âcaution tapeâ and I decided to check it out and I found an item I was going to take the front, but when I turned around to get out one of the workers purposely put a bookshelf in our way blocking our way of exit!! When I pushed it out the way and head to the front a worker stopped me saying that the item I had wasnât for sale. I told her okay I was unaware and why was I locked in the back?! and she completely ignored the fact that she barricaded me in the back. She continued to say âoh the caution tape fell offâ No apology of her blocking us in and I kindly gave her the book back after she kept saying itâs not for sale And went about my business. I normally donât ever do comments, but This was too much of a weird experience for me that I donât want to happen to someone else! I could only make assumptions and assume that maybe she thought I was supposedly doing something âbadâ and thatâs why she barricaded me or if They had other bad intentions. But regardless, this place needs a deep clean And it is a complete fire hazard. I donât understand how this is...
Read morewe used to come here all the time before the closing/remodel and always used to find great stuff here.
currently, the store is very messy, hot, and overwhelming to walk through.
however, talking with the owner we understood that this new âremodelingâ hasnât come without itâs fair share of problems (ac, flooding, just the overall economy) and perhaps iâm clinging too much into the past but with how our neighborhoods are being overtaken by big corporations and pushing out smaller, family owned businesses i think itâs our job as residents of HEB to support the businesses that have integrated themselves so deeply into our lives.
so yeah, is the store cluttered? definitely. are there price tags on stuff? not really. but as someone who knows the great service, finds, and people that are found at this place i think we can afford to give them a bit of leniency and continue to support them until they can comfortably get back on their feet.
also they have a great dog named edith that...
Read moreI have been going to coat of many colors for a very long time but lately I have been very disappointed in their pricing..everything is donated from the community and it supposed to be reasonably priced but they are price gouging they have books that are clearly from the dollar tree selling for two and three dollars, paparazzi jewelry that sells for five dollars they sell it for eight dollars. I even asked one of the store associates why they price or book so high and he said because people can buy those books and sell them on eBay Iâm telling you I clearly saw a baby book with bite marks on it and they try to sell it for eight dollars. Very sad if you are looking for good deals I would go the the Mission store in hurst They still have a reasonably priced items childrenâs books for 50 cents and not...
