We’ve anticipated coming here for weeks and chose this based on the stellar reviews, but oh man am I hugely disappointed! Lebanese (and Mid Eastern/ Mediterranean in general) is my absolute favorite and I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying some amazing, authentic cuisine back home and here in DFW, but this was a big miss! I stopped in and was the only customer Tuesday afternoon and ordered Kabob dinners, tabbouleh, and the Sambousek (both meat and cheese) to go.
The Sambouseks were already cold when I got home a whopping 6 minutes away, but even more importantly, tiny with hardly any filling inside. The meat seemed old and my husband thought the cheese tasted sour. Speaking of sour, the tabbouleh was seriously inedible! I took one bite and had to spit it out because it tastes sour and rotten. The chicken kabob, my husband enjoyed, but my kafta was overly salted and had a charred flavor. The rice and grilled veggies were the only redeeming elements in these meals. They were cooked very well. The accompanying sauce was also too bitter. Which is crazy because my palate preferences are salty, sour, charred foods… but this was all overkill. Can’t believe I can say this; but I’ve had much better at a local Americanized chain Mediterranean restaurant there… and that’s...
Read moreBeen going here for many years. Always happy with the excellent customer service and quality of food. My family of 4 went last night and sat on the patio (where we usually sit in warm weather). There was a very large party inside (about 20 people) and so the service was slower than usual. But the wait staff did the best they could and even brought us complimentary tortellini, chicken nuggets and fries. VERY thoughtful. I am so glad this business has weathered the pandemic. I guess I should mention the food, huh? I ordered the Al Wadi Wrap with kafta and it was delicious. I love the taste of tabbouleh mixed with ground beef. But I have also had the beef schwarma and chicken schwarma and both are fantastic. The fish dinner is scrumptious. The baklava and rice pudding are GREAT. The moussaka is also marvelous. My kids always order the cheese pita pizza and love it. The side dishes are very large portions (ie, side Greek salad, mama ghanouj). Once you try this place, you won't want to go anywhere else for Mediterranean food. Also, if they reinstate their AWESOME all-you-can-eat buffet (post pandemic), you won't want to miss it. BTW, this...
Read moreSooooo good! Listen, if you had asked me a few years ago what was the one food I wouldn’t eat, I would have said Mediterranean. And I’m not a picky person. I’ve had it before and no bueno. Colleagues at my new job however knew Mediterranean food and had me try some things at work and it grew on me. It was probably a problem because I didn’t know what to order before. Then I saw this restaurant right around the corner from my house and made my husband go try it with me. We discovered that they have a buffet on Sundays and now I’m hooked. I can get all my favorite things on the buffet. The gyro meat is soooo good, the tabouleh, falafel, hummus…the garlic sauce is to die for. Go try ALL the things! I’m not really sorry to say I haven’t tried the grape leaf things because I really haven’t liked those in the past, but go try them and decide for yourself! Everything on the buffet is so good. Don’t be scared of the word buffet because you can get all the...
