As always Schewels of Bedford have met and exceeded my needs. My recent bedroom suite purchase was the first purchase I had made for a while. I stocked my new house a few years ago so I really did not need any furniture for a while, but when I did need something Schewels of Bedford was the first stop. Yes, there are lots of other places I could have went, but none that would give me the kind of service that I get when I go to Schewels of Bedford. I call up my sales person (Teresa) and tell her what I'm looking for and she goes to work. If she has something in the store she tells me to come in and take a look, if not she checks her other stores or even catalogs to find what I want even when I don't always know what I want. The store manager (Brian) always comes out and greets me every time I come in and we play catchup on everything that has happened since the last time we spoke. If there is ever a problem Brian and Teresa always to work to fix it so that I have the best experience possible. The girls in the back are always smiling and eager to help in any way possible. Don't leave out the delivery staff who break their backs to carefully deliver anything I choose even if sometimes it will barely fit through my front door.
A week after this purchase I was back to purchase a recliner for my mother-in-law. After purchasing the chair and giving it to her we realized that it was a job for her to even operate the nice new recliner. Because of her size she was unable to reach the recline lever. After calling the store we were able to return the chair and purchase a lift chair that would better suit her needs. I don't know if I would have gotten this same consideration anywhere else.
I would like to take the time to thank the staff at Schewels of Bedford for making my furniture shopping needs less of a chore and more enjoyable. I go in and hang out with friends and in return take home some...
Read moreWe were told items were in stock after we purposely asked that question (the recliner wasn't on sales floor, prompting the question) only to receive a call saying part of it isn't in stock and no eta date other then end of June. Also, when we asked if we could have to floor display instead, we were told it was already spoken for. How's that? If it were "in stock" when we asked, how is the floor piece already spoken for? We heard and seen another lady purchasing same set that was a "friend" of the sales person. Her ticket was after ours. Yet we were put on back order and couldn't get the floor display... and we paid in full! We have been clients for 15 years, never experienced anything like this. Never again. We canceled the order and found furniture better name brand for less. So it worked out for us in the end. But we went here out of loyalty and keeping it local. Also we were told we could pick up what was in stock. But we paid for delivery. No offer to deliver what was available as a way to make amends until rest was available. Only option was to pick it up and rest would be delivered when it came in. If I had wanted to do pick up, I wouldn't have paid for delivery to begin with. I've worked retail, I've managed a business, I understand customer service 100%. We were more then understanding as we had to wait bc they were "severely understaffed" employee said. Read moreI feel like my issue isn't being addressed by management, I was told delivery was to included hook up by the office. For nearly $100.00 to go not even 7 miles up the road it should have been delivered without so much as a scratch, it should have been hooked up COMPLETELY.
It was delivered disassembled, scratched and not hooked up. The delivery boys complained the entire time they were running late, that this was more than they expected and left mystepfather to reassemble the appliance- don't get me started on how my stepfather medically shouldn't be exerting himself. The only reason I went with delivery is the promise of it being hooked up without complications.
Not only do I want a full refund on the delivery, I want the appliance replaced- quickly. Or I want a considerable discount.
This is the first time schewels has disappointed me so, we called the manager, she requested pictures, sent them, told her of the problem with paying for the delivery... she said she would look into it and get back with me.
It's been 4 business days since. Not so much as a follow up. I tried calling back, waited on hold for 15 minutes just to be told the manager wasn't in.
Either way I refuse to pay for the delivery and I'll be darned if I pay full price for...
