Very disappointed at my experience today at this store, more specifically the Deli Dept. I am not the type to write negative reviews about partners but when the level of customer experience is unacceptable its hard not to voice it out with hope that it doesn't happen to someone else. Today, 11/16/2023 at around 3:30pm I decided to stop by this store because I was in need of ham and cheese. When I arrived to the Deli Department, two ladies were in the back talking, I stood there for about two minutes and they never bothered to check in with me, acknowledge me, or tell me they would be with me in a moment. As I attempted to get their attention by asking if I could get some ham, a women named Patty turned to look at me and just turned back again. She noticed me and did not bother saying a word to me at all and acted as she never even saw me. I then turned to the cheese lady a few steps away and her excuse for them not helping me was that due to the holidays they were very busy. I was in disbelief that on Nov 14, a Thursday, a Deli representative can't help a customer slice ham and cheese at 3:30pm because of "the holidays". As I turn back around, Patty is putting something out on the shelves in front of the Deli and as I approach her to try to tell her what I needed she waves her hand over her ear as if my voice is a disgrace. Is this really what HEB accepts in a partner? I asked the cheese lady for the manager in the Cold Deli and she mentioned they were not there anymore. I left without my ham, cheese and with a nasty perception of that lady and very disappointed that she is still employed at a company where customer experience has always been excellent. To have partners like Patty, treat customers like that because we are an inconvenience to help in person, because of the "holidays". A customer should never have to beg for help or feel like they are inconveniencing a partner who is supposed to be...
Read moreI used to go here a lot because the sushi is always fresh and the food is always good. Can’t say much about the prices though. Lol. But last time I went there, the lady at the self-check out was yelling at me cause my son accidentally sat on the grocery bag weight. And I told her that that wasn’t the problem, the cash register was just going crazy. And she raised her voice and said “tell your son to get off the weight” in a strong loud voice with a lot of attitude. I told her she didn’t need to be yelling. No one is going to want to do anything if you’re rude about it. There was no room in the self check out line and the lanes exit had a small little hole for you to get out so he was pushed up against the register because we were right next to the exit. So that people could get out. My son was squeezed in between the cart and the register. Instead of creating a solution, instead of telling her manager, instead of a manager solving this problem at all, any way shape or form, she decided to yell at my son for something he can’t control and was completely rude about it. That’s not customer service. She’s there for a paycheck. Customer service is clearly not her forté. I have been in customer service business for more than 10 years. If I treated a customer like that, I’d get no tip. I’d make no money. I have to earn my money. Which makes sense if she’s not getting paid a lot. All I am trying to say is, I would NEVER talk to a customer the way she talked to me and I’d never accept someone talking like that to me. I haven’t gone back to that H-E-B since. I’m scared that she will still be there yelling at customers and being ignorant and not being a problem solver and blaming little children and yelling at them for coping with that crazy circumstance...
Read moreJust checked out the HEB that FINALLY reopened and let me tell you, it's everything I dreamed and more!!!!! To answer my main concerns before I went: Q: Is parking a big hassle? A: Nope! The parking garage is easy to get in and out of, there's tons of parking on the second level, but we were able to park at street level parking with very little wait. There was a security guard posted on each side. From the parking garage you walk straight inside. Q: Is the escalator weird/an issue? A: Nope! They have three HUGE elevators that are industrial size. When I heard they had an elevator I pictured waiting forever in a dusty hallway to be packed awkwardly into a tiny space. Nope, got on it right away when I was done shopping and it was the biggest elevator I'd ever seen. We took the escalator up, then the elevator back down and it was seamless. They also have a "cart escalator" you attach your cart to to take it down, but it's more of a gimmick since the elevator was readily available. Oh, and the carts are waiting for you upstairs when you enter via the escalator, so don't worry about that either. BTW, it was PACKED when we went, and no issues. Q: So how's the shopping? A: OMG!!!!! It's beautiful, they have EVERYTHING, an amazing bakery, produce section, meat and seafood department, I mean just a huge selection!!!!!!!!!!!! And their prices are unbeatable!!!! Q: Were the lines terrible? A: OMG no!!!! It was PACKED and they were prepared! There were tons of lanes open and we got right in with only one person in front of us. Lots of helpful employees were around and were polite and awesome! Q: How long will the crappy Randall's across the street stay open? A: I say six months, my husband says one year 😝 Thanks so...
