Fairy Nail & Spa — Local services in Belleview

This was my 3rd and last visit. Now I know why there is never any wait to walk in there. They started by ignoring what I asked for (with pictures) and using the wrong base colour so he had to start over. Since he had to start over I think he was rushing and did not do his usual good quality job (he did a good job for me on a different occasion). He was not able to draw basic moon and star shapes but kept pushing holiday and snow designs I didn’t want or ask for so I had him remove the shapes and opted not to get any design. There is lumps, dips & 1 big crater in my nails. He “finished” with the thickest grit file so the edges are jagged and rough. My right thumb nail is a full half inch longer than my left. A lady that worked there YELLED at me that “it’s not that bad” but the bottom line is the quality is not up to their usual standards and they were unable to create the look I asked for. The nails look ok from afar since it’s glitter but don’t look too closely or you’ll see how badly it’s done, plus it’s not what I asked for. They were not physically able to draw a simple, frequently used shape. The man who was my tech was very nice and polite about everything but the lady was unhinged and yelled instead of listening to my concerns. I’m sure she was tired at the end of the day and annoyed with my displeasure but that’s no excuse to treat people like that. I payed a lot of money for this treatment. Bad business practices. I have been patronizing this business for little under a year and there was always a little underlying current of not feeling welcomed in this saloon. I kept going back because they are extremely clean and they open 7 days however my last experience with one of the males techs sealed it I will not be returning. He initially ignored me when he was asked to do my toes, I figured once he set up and started doing my toes he would say hello, his first and only words were "put your foot up" I was embarrassed, hurt and disturbed, but managed to say Hello not once but twice and was ignored BOTH times. I was in a state of shock. As a melanated Caribbean woman I wondered if my skin color had anything to do with how I was being treated. I decided to ask for another tech, well once I did that I was told "you should asked earlier we are getting ready to go home" I said to the female I can explain why I am making this request. About 10 minutes another female asked me what was the problem, she was not the manager she said the manager was busy. I told her what I had just experienced I was told "I got you" what this an apology, honestly I am not sure. But they don't have to worry I will not spend my hard earned money where I am treated in this regard. There are really friendly and professional people in this shop too bad one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch. My husband and I will not be returning, neither...

I’m new to the area and wasn’t happy with the first salon I tried so I started looking online again and found Fairy Nail and Spa. I was very surprised calling on Saturday AM and being told to come in at 1:00 and be done by next available technician. I waited a short while and then Kelvin asked what exactly I wanted and continued to check that everything was okay, length that I wanted not what he thought. I like to have my nails done but will not be able to do anything with my hands. I asked for pink and white and he had another color for the pink that he said would go well with my skin tone and he was right. I will be going back in 2-3 weeks depending on my nails and get the pedicure done also. Thank you to Kelvin for doing such a perfect job. Addendum: It’s been about a year now and I am still impressed with Fairy nails and spa. Steve is my tech and does my hands and pedicures lt is always nice to have the same person every time I go in ( about 3 weeks).
