This place has a lot going for it. While the beef offerings werenāt wide ranging, they at least know how to cut a ribeye to proper thickness, which is more than I can say for the big box stores in the area. They also offer an above average amount of specialty, home-made products, including a few sausages, chorizo, marinated chicken, stuffed pork chops, etc. Complimented with the small amount of produce and dry goods, itās a decent place to stop in and pick up a meal for the evening.
When we visited, the staff at the time could not tell me the farm their beef is sourced from. Iām familiar with answers such as Creekstone Farms, Snake Riverā¦.Eventually, I was told it is āfrom Washington - the same place Gordon Ramsay gets his beefā - which seemed more like a talking point; not sure how true that is.
We also picked up one link each of some of their sausage, only to have it weighed and packed in one container (fine) - with the price of the more expensive variety (less than ideal).
Itās worth a visit, but as a butcher shop, I expect the staff behind the counter to be excited and knowledgeable about the product they are selling. Good...
Ā Ā Ā Read more5/3/24: A few weeks late since I actually wanted to test the quality of what I bought. Anyway I came to this store in search of a new meat market since Ray's Prime Meats closed down. It didn't look like it had a lot on first glance, but I've been told you could call in for certain meats/cuts, and they'll provide/ready it for you when you arrive. The lady at the counter and the butcher in the back were extremely accommodating; fantastic customer service. They didn't have any chorizo, and they were nice enough to make some on the spot(had to wait a bit, but it was fine). Chorizo had a good spiced blend. I got some of that, some chicken breasts, and some ground beef. They were nice enough to filet the breasts for me and I used them in a number of different ways; seared, fried, baked. Quality was good. The ground beef was especially nice; very crumbly, which is really good for smashburgers.
I also got some deli meat and cheeses which was Boar's Head, which is quality wherever you get it from, but it was a bit higher here than other places.
All in all great place, and if I was closer to here, it would definitely be worth a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was super excited when I saw that we were getting a local butcher shop! It's super appealing and well organized. They have excellent meat selections. They also carry pre-prepped foods, some are a bit in the pricy side but good and a variety of market necessities as well. I personally can't get enough of the Dearborn perogies! The only suggestion I would have is the following: Have daily specials so that the locals with all different income levels know what to expect and you will keep the traffic coming in consistently. Have chicken breasts, pork chops, steaks, hamburgers, roasts, specialty meats, etc. all on sale different days of the week so people will come in more regularly and keep business booming! Advertise in the windows the weekly specials so people can see it driving by! The only other suggestion I would make is remember that people have Meijer and Walmart right up the road. Your special pastas and sides are great, especially the mac n cheese but just be careful not to overprice. Most people will go for cheaper rather than...
