I had a great experience here. I was very surprised at the breadth of products they carry, ranging from the candles, bath and body products I expected to full skin care (men’s and women’s) and household cleaning product lines I didn’t.
You can scent 25+ different items in the store with the scent or combination of scents you choose. If you decide you’d like to create something like a candle, you can do that on the spot without an appointment and simply have to leave it for an hour to dry before coming back to claim it. Their process works a little differently than other candle bars I have visited in the past. Their scents are behind the counter and you get a feel for what you like by going through the store and smelling other fully created products as opposed to the single scents. It’s just a different way of approaching it but it worked fine for me and I came to the counter with four potential scents, three of which I ended up using in my candle. I went in another scent direction for a car diffuser, which is a really neat concept where the liquid soaks into a wooden top, and used that same scent for a hand soap from their refillery, which is something else that surprised me. You can bring in your own container or pay a few dollars for one of their and take home bulk quantity personal care or household liquids to cut down on waste. They also have some very unique items local to the area, such as a Bellevue candle that benefits a local organization and Lincoln Ave. and Jagoff soaps, as well as some distinctly Pittsburgh scents such as chipped ham, dill pickle and pierogi. (Don’t knock the garlic bread candle until you’ve smelled it, seriously.)
Their staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, and quick to make recommendations if the number of available options started to feel a little daunting. This is a really nice local business that has something for everyone, and I left feeling that I had created items that were very...
Read moreSituation here. So recently my daughter and wife were here shopping which they have done many times and liked going here. So today my daughter just wanted stickers no big deal however the rude customer service is disheartening. The main issue and problem here is my daughter left her pick Owalla light pink water bottle there. Coming back into the store to after leaving for a couple minutes my wife stated that our daughter had left the water bottle there. In the store there were two workers and one other customer. Without describing it the customer at the bar where you make your soaps said oh it's a light pink water bottle I saw it around here somewhere. When asking the workers if it was turned in smirks and eyes rolls where given with a no it was not so sorry. With a complete attitude. My main reason for the complaint is when I saw my daughter she was in tears and saying how the workers badly treated her mom and the she never wants to go back there again. I will also like to say there is always two sides to a story and I am just stating what I was told and hope that the owners are able to see what happened and also maybe think about the type of people that are hired. Maybe it was a bad day for them but we are all human and deserve to be treated with respect. It's not about the water..... It's more than that. Thank you for...
Read moreI was invited to check out PSquare through Run Relay and I’m so glad to have found them!
This spot is great for bath and body supplies, soaps, incense, candles and more! When I found out everything is clean it suddenly made sense as to why I didn’t have a hard time being in there. It takes me next to no time to end up with a headache at your typical bath and body or candle shop.
We seriously had the best time creating our own candles. The human who guided us was so extremely helpful, patient, and kind.
We had a 9 year old in the mix, who was extremely capable, but it’s just different than guiding a few adults, and the care and attention received was so appreciated.
We left with creations we’re excited to burn, and we’re really excited to go back!
The FAQ section on the PSquare site is extremely helpful when exploring candle making. Pro Tip: if you’re going on a Sunday just be sure to look into your nearby options if you plan to occupy yourself for an hour while waiting for...
