I spent HOURS calling places on Sunday hoping to find someone who could fit me in last minute for a Brazilian wax. Either no one would answer who said they were open, or they were booked up. This place answered and had an immediate opening so I zoomed over.

It was my first wax down there and I was super nervous and shy, but the lady who did the waxing was the NICEST SWEETEST WOMAN EVER. She was so patient and kind and did it in small patches and honestly it didn’t hurt NEARLY as bad as I had prepared for. My eyes didn’t even water and the results are wonderful! I’ve had my legs waxed, my face and my armpits. The arm pits hurt 10X worse than my downstairs imo lol. When I’ve had my brows waxed and the ONE time I did ONE armpit, my eyes watered uncontrollably from the pain. And my eyes water from the face wax too but that’s usually the first indication that it’s really painful to me, and I didn’t even get close to tearing up. Yes some areas stung worse than others but the pain is so effing short lived. I had no swelling, just good smooth results with almost no pain considering the area and what you’d normally expect. (Please be aware everyone’s pain tolerance is different- my experience with pain won’t be the same as everyone’s, but the fact that she did it in smaller sections, I feel contributed to the less pain)

There has never been a time that I left HKT Nail & Spa disappointed. After an entire lifetime of being a “Plain Jane” I decided to start getting my nails done, eyebrows and lip hairs waxed, etc. This establishment has been so helpful in responding to my needs and meeting me where I was on my self-care journey. My natural nails are always perfectly manicured, with absolutely eye popping designs that gets me compliments every single day! No lie! They also keep me looking young, presentable, and downright fabulous with the facial massages. I am so very thankful for the owner, her daughter, and the amazing staff that caters to not only women and girls, but also to the fellas! HKT Nails & Spa also has several free hot and cold beverages to make your appointment even better. They even offer white wine, red wine, and Mimosas for free! Not only that but Thanh and her daughter, Mai went out of their way to get my daughter an assortment of cupcakes for her 16th birthday! Now that’s just too generous of them and I am so very thankful that they showered her on such an important birthday milestone! I called to book an appointment, as I knew the set I would want for my birthday might take a while. When I arrived I asked to show some photos of the idea of what I wanted to achieve… my nail tech then grabbed some stickers to see if any of them would match the design I would want. I was hoping to get my design hand painted, and I would’ve paid anything extra to have them painted. I’m not sure why I was only offered stickers for designs. The manicure was alright, however, the nail tech made two of my fingers bleed and I left there with crusty blood on two of my nails. I do love the set I have, but I would have liked to been treated a bit better and offered full service nail tech, as that is what I booked my appointment for...
