I just want to start this review by saying that used to love going into Dick’s sporting goods. I remember going here to buy running shoes (then Sports Authority) when I was in college, so for a long time this was my go to place for all things running and exercise related. The layout of the store is amazing and the Nike collection is the best. There are lots of high quality brand items and I love browsing here. I also want to mention that I don’t like getting anyone in trouble and that holiday burnout is a thing in the customer service world. So I went in last Friday to do some personal and Christmas shopping only to not be treated well. The service used to be good but nobody asked me if they could help or assist with anything and I don’t make it to Bellingham very often or go shopping so when I do go out I’ll spend anywhere from $200-$800 dollars on Nike clothing.
The cash register gentleman was sloppy. I obviously had a lot of items and he was slow and just nonchalant about everything. First he wasn’t very friendly, second he didn’t even fold my clothes and just put them in the bag all wrinkled (like $60 nike sweaters and $40 dollar nike t-hirts.. etc), third he left the electronic tag on an item in which I had to go into the bag and remind him to take it off and fourth he canceled my payment method. The last thing is that he only gave me one brown bag for my clothes in which it was small. I spent almost $400 dollars here and was unimpressed. He did mention that he was tired and that he had a long day so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. This was later in the night so I get it and do understand holiday burnout in the customer service world.
Used to love coming in here to splurge, thinking of just buying online...
Read moreMy mind was just blown today. I had made an order for curbside pickup and the computer system failed to process it, leaving me in a pickle. I had just been in a terrible accident and needed protective gear to feel safe on a bike, again, but the system error prevented me from taking the items. I didn’t have enough cash in my account to cover paying for the items a second time with a hold on my funds from the online purchase and I couldn’t get through on the customer service line despite multiple attempts. Today was supposed to be my first day back to work after the accident and I was already late because of these delays. The managerial staff stepped in and after trying everything they could to fix the issue, offered to pay for my items so I could get back to work safely. I was stunned. I accepted the help with my deepest gratitude, donned my pads, and pedaled to work. I am never shopping at another sporting good store. DSG for life. I called everyone and told them of the amazing customer service from this store. I believe my hero was Matt, a young gentleman with a fabulous beard. There were two other ladies there as well, but i do not recall their names:( Thank you, again!!! I hope this review, while Unasked for, will help you in...
