It was great as usual until i went to check out. No lines great! Started putting groceries on the conveyor n as I was getting deeper in the basket i noticed i had accidentally doubled up on a few small canned items. Said sorry n if i could put them in one of my boxes to the side. He called an employee to tell them. At the beginning of my shop i intended to cook using same cheaper ingredients . But this day there was a Great selection of seafoods i hadn't seen before n I just had to buy it up. I had just gotten my stimulus check n decided to splurge about 2 wks worth. Recently just gave up meat for health reasons n sick of tofu n tempeh for last 4 months! At the same time my daughter was in the hospital giving birth to my 3rd grandchild. No visitors due to Covid. So I added to my cart a last minute "New lil Mama" care package! I bought 4 recommended wines, swiss chocolates, the best cheeses etc that goes with it. Another "Happy Splurge". I felt really excited about my purchases n to surprise my daughter w her 'care package' since i couldnt be there unfortunately n we LOVE Aldie's food selection so can't go wrong! I felt really bad about having to ask if I could put these items to the side n believe me he really made sure with his horrible, loud attitude and sarcasm how displeased I was making him! He repeatedly yelled to other employees working in back of store about how now they had extra work due to me. Now there's a line behind me n I'm standing there with all eyes on me since he's purposely loud, rolling his eyes about what is going on. He completely stopped and refused to ring up the items I already had out. I asked him why he wasn't ringing up my food. He had his arms crossed saying he wasn't going to continue until I made up my mind n scolded me like a child completely embarrassing me. Customers behind me are now aggravated. He's still refusing to ring me up and is calling for cashier backup so now this employee of course is aggravated because they just got off their register so now a big situation is going on and everybody is aggravated. I was mortified n speechless. I did feel bad about having to put things on the side but i wasnt about to buy groceries I didn't want. He had me so upset. Now I'm standing there feeling confused about what kind of scene this has folded out to be n at this point deciding whether to just walk out or not. I have never come out of a grocery store in tears before. I did end up buying the rest of my groceries plus spent extra money on getting the items I didn't want just to get this guy to shut up n start checking out my items just so i could get out of their fastest way possible without being lectured AGAIN infront of an entire store and get him to start checking my groceries again, getting the line going again and getting the hell out of there fast. I was so upset by this point i didnt even bother bagging my grocies n left mortified. My 75 yr old mother who had just bought her groceries ahead of me was waiting in the car now wondering why I'm crying n just dumping my unbagged food in the car wanting to get out of the parking lot n just get home. She's so mad. It was her that introduced me n my 2 daughter's to this Aldi's that we all "used to" enjoy shopping at together. Well NOT ANYMORE. We actually drive out of way to shop at this Aldi's while Food Lion is less than a mile from our house. Come to find out since I gave them a try (now that none of us in our family shop Aldi's) they have recently added healthy choice foods n brands I like down every aisle n meat alternatives besides just tofu! I never come out crying, mortified or spending extra money from a food shopping trip. We have told alot of our neighbors about the changes Food Lion made in healthy food changes n brands we all like n not having to drive miles away n God forbid have to come running out Aldi's the way I did. Many of them surprised because ironically it was us that turned them on to Aldi's! So in a way I should thank your awful, rude employee for saving all of us time n money in gas now NOT shopping with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreExcellent store, seamless shopping experience & friendly staff. Over the last couple years I've slowly transitioned from the over priced stores to Aldi. It has helped my family get more streamlined, efficient. We transitioned to once a week shopping. This has given us coat and time savings, which is a great benefit. On top of that, Aldi shopping was instrumental in my success on WW. All the glorious produce unbelievable prices allow me to pack our house with fresh produce. And gives us the freedom to try & experiment with different things... My weekly grilled Salmon is a great addition. But still a no on Avocados. :) I love how simple and thoughtfuly the store is laid out. I even organize my list in the order of the aisles. Throughout the turbulence of this Spring 2020, it has given me peace to know my store is there, ready and willing to serve. They have been agile and have evolved to meet our needs. I recognize almost all my staff and the manager too. He's usually in the thick of things and I get to say hello most times. Despite the uncertainty and chaos and risks.... They have worked long hours to try and stay stocked to take care of everyone. This has been unusual times for sure. I just wanted to say thanks to my Belmont Aldi team for always being there for us and let you know I appreciate you. See you Friday...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI go to this ALDI's store at least once a week I try to at least. Everybody here is usually smiley and in a happy, good going mood. But not today. The store was clean. Everything was well stocked. But not once did I get a welcome to Aldi's. Or a smile. And then when I get up to the cash register the woman is scanning my items and just throwing stuff into the seat. I have a kid with me so I take everything out of the seat. So I Throw it in the bigger part and I put my daughter to sit down. She asks me to replace the buggy that wasn't being used next to her so with her attitude she gave me I just give her one end of it so she can pull it to her and she just pulled it so hard it makes a loud banging against the register and I look behind me and at the next woman she's just throwing all the items into her cart too. Well after that I didn't get a thank you, she didn't look at me she just gave me my receipt and that was it. I think I'll just go...
