Service 1; food 4; atmosphere 3

I’m giving one star because my 9year old and I went for dinner and upon receiving my check I noticed we were charged a sharing fee. This both angered me and disappointed me/surprised me. No one spoke to us regarding any sharing fee. With regard to “sharing” my child ordered a children’s meal and didn’t like the burrito he got with the #5 when he received his plate. So being the adult present I ate it bc I was not about to throw it away. We very well could have taken it to go but we chose not to do that. I had ordered Ala cart 2 tacos and we also ordered a small side of queso and sopapilla (which we did share) for desert. We were not offered Togo boxes, but instead the server reached over me to retrieve /picked up a plate with only my son’s children’s rice on the plate and I let him know to please put the plate down bc we would like to take it with us. And only then did we get a box for that and not even offered additional boxes for our nearly full cup of queso that remained. I had to ask another server additionally for a container. I chose not to address this in the restaurant bc it seemed confrontational and I saw no way around that. I’m unsure if it was me “sharing” his burrito or the desert sopapilla but I’m unhappy that we experienced this being that we didn’t set out on sharing his children’s meal and I will not apologize for not wasting food; but I was charged a fee for sharing either item is wild. The other fact is that the server chose to charge the fee and not even discuss it with us or perhaps ask which is quite poorly handled in a customer service based environment. Not happy. There’s zero place where it states this on the menu and again not one person brought this up and said there will be a fee. The server even brought two spoons for the sopapilla and we didn’t ask for 2 spoons. So I’m just at a loss for the justification as well as the lack in communication and it doubled my bill nearly by adding that fee, then on top of it, I paid with cash and he kept my change coins and brought only bills. This is no high end restaurant when was this a thing. I’m disappointed and no we won’t be back because I’m not sure if I’ll be charged $5+ extra for “sharing” or touching the others food items...

Hands down our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Always very friendly service. Our food comes out quickly and we've never had to send anything back or had any major complaint, aside from my husband who would love having an endless tea glass lol. The ONLY reason I have 4 stars rather than 5 is because a young couple came in to be seated and the female was NOT wearing a mask. She was, however, carrying it in her hand. I am by far a fan of wearing a mask, am even guilty of bucking the system in certain public areas. But NOT at the risk of contaminating others or food they will ingest. In a restaurant you are required to wear it the entire time unless seated at your table. I watched her touch her mouth twice as she walked by 4 tables, each with 3 or 4 people, unmasked. Having just lost a close friend, had relatives test positive and having dinner with a loved one who is considered to be at a greater risk, making sure we take every measure possible to prevent exposure is important to us...even down to hand sanitizer after touching the menu....that young lady made if feel it was all in vain. I just felt as though the restaurant staff should enforce wearing masks to the point of refusing sit down service. Again, I hate them. They are not cute and mess up my makeup and smudge my lipstick. But rather than risk my health or others in order to enjoy a sit down dinner with friends and family, I will gladly comply. I realize more now than ever that eating at the restaurant is a privilege. I'd like to enjoy that freedom, without having the thought of being exposed in the back of my mind the...

Very poor service. We eat here very often and tonight was absolutely horrible. Worst experience I have ever had anywhere. To start the night our waiter spilled an entire glass of water on my nephew, wife, and all in my wife purse. Of course accidents happen, not fun but it was no big deal. My wife helped clean it all up and we ordered our food. We had to eventually remind them they never brought my wife back a water to replace the one the spilled all over her and that all of our drinks need refilled because we were never checked on during our meal. After it was all said and done when we finally got our check after waiting what seemed to be forever there was no compensation for our miserable meal. When I asked what they planned to do to compensate us for our inconvenience, apparently taking 4 dollars off of the check is supposed to be acceptable for everything that had happened. Needless to say we don't like to be the way we were tonight but we definitely did not leave a tip, unfortunately paid the bill and we left. If I knew the wife would not have been mad about it, I would have ripped it up tossed it back on the counter and walked out but I didn't... Needless to say we will...

Listen, hands down if you're looking for authentic Mexican food and live around the Belmont, Cramerton, Mt. Holly area. Look no further. I personally am a self-proclaimed mexican food expert. I've tried sooooo many different options since relocating here 3 years ago. Taxco, is it. Always consistent. Authentic salsa recipes and everything in between. Wether you're looking for tacos, burritos, mexican stews, etc. They have it and are guaranteed to leave your tastebuds jumping for joy. The atmosphere reminds you of old Mexico city, not fancy but very clean and very warm inviting staff as well.

I eat here often as both my wife and child love it. Dos Equis on tap and plenty of good food options. My kid calls it the Chips and Salsa Restarnaunt (spelled per pronunciation). Update: Prices have definitely gone up and even more so the popularity if this place. Even with the expansion this place gets busy a lot now. Food has always been good. Try the Sopa de Tortilla, ACP, Fajita Fundida, and plenty of others. My only complaint is the methods in which the workers use the bathroom as they had growing up elsewhere, is extremely unsanitary.

Taxco is our default setting for Mexican food in this area. The food is dependably good and the service fast and friendly. It’s a quick, filling stop in for lunch, or a nice place to linger over a casual dinner with friends. My favorites are any of the tacos, the quesadillas, and their extremely tasty chicken soup (sopa de pollo). That chicken soup is the only thing I want when I am under the weather. It is warming comfort food with enough subtle spice to clear your sinuses.
