If you're in the market for a new club, for some swing advice, or just to talk the game of golf, look no further. Jim at Ohio Valley Custom Clubs is the guy for you. I met Jim about 2-3 months ago. Originally calling to book a driver fitting. He extremely polite, kind and willing to talk golf over the phone. Never in a hurry to get off the call. For someone that has never bought anything off of him, that was a wonderful experience and really spoke to Jim's character. About a month later I went down to Jim's shop and talked to him for about an hour on a rainy day. Checking in about the club fitting and talking golf. We talked about my struggles with my swing and he gave me 3-4 tips to implement to my Game. All minor adjustments, a few I have never heard before, even from taking lessons and watching countless videos from other individuals. I played 3 times over the next week and a half and i was baffled. What an improvement I made with ball contact and setup next to the golfball just by talking to Jim. After these first few encounters, I knew I had found someone I could trust, invest in and call a friend. Yesterday Jim got me at the range for my driver fitting. Let me recap, quickly, my driver experience for the last year and a half:

1. terrified standing on the T. I'm not sure if the balls going down the fairway, sliced right into the neighboring fairway or going to be a 50 yd grounded from poor contact

2. because of the above statement, I have 0 confidence in this club and on the T box. I often found myself pulling a 3 iron out of my bag on a parts 4, sacrificing yards in order to put it in the fairway. I roughly lose 6 strokes a round playing my driver, that club has been that bad.

I tell you this because yesterday because yesterday's experience at my club fitting with Jim was exceptional. I spent an hour with Jim and to tell you what he accomplished in an hour is really unbelievable. After about 40 minutes, he had got me in a club setup that made me feel right at home. Even more impressive is within about 15 shots, he saw some things that kept me from achieving the results I was looking for off the T box. Essentially becoming a swing coach. I immediately was hitting more balls down the center of the fairway than I had in the last year and a half of playing. I couldn't believe what I was able to do after Jim's recommendations and fitting me to a club that was tailored to me. I felt as if I were a 6 year old walking into Toys R US for the first time. (Don't we all miss that feeling)? If you're reading this, we're all looking to improve something in our game. Or, just looking for another friend in golf. Take my advice, Jim knows golf. He's earned a lifetime customer and I greatly appreciate and value him for what he's helped me accomplish in such a short period of time. I ordered a new PING G440 yesterday, can't wait to swing...

I have known Jim Kemp For over 20 years. I’ve know him to be great at his craft whether when he worked for ODOT to specializing in golf club repair and service. My latest experience is I bought a set of Ping Blueprints off the internet, they didn’t feel right. Went to see I’m at Ohio Valley Custom where he disassembled the complete set. Sometimes in life you discover hidden gems. OVCC is one of them. After destroying my putter on accident via golf cart… I searched the internet to find someone to revive my club. Luckily, I got ahold of Jim. He brought my putter back to life, replaced some grips and added an extension to my 60 degree. Through out the process Jim was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and straight forward. I will never take my clubs anywhere...
