What did I like about it? Not much. Staff was rude. Someone followed my brothers and I around the store and stared us down as we perused the whiskey shelf. When we went to pay they refused my one brothers VALID (accepted everywhere except here, apparently) passport card id. Then, they refused to sell to my other brother and myself. We are all obviously of age (in our late 20s early 30s) and were purchasing quality liquor ($109 bottle of scotch). Its ridiculous that we were refused because, one of us, has an ID that they've, and I quote: "never seen one like this before." We're 100 miles away from the Canadian border, and this kind of ID is common and accepted every where else in northern mn (and the world). I literally just created a gmail account just so I could write this review. I have never been treated so inhumanely by a place I was willingly giving my money to. It was truly astounding. I had sent an employee there to pick up champagne. 1) The clerk said he put the reciept in the bag. He did not. 2) I called and asked if he could find me the receipt, as I needed it for accounting purposes. He said, and I quote, "You want me to dig through the garbage to find your stupid receipt?" This place should be out of business. They routinely treat their customers like stray dogs. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO LAKEVIEW LIQUORS IN BEMIDJI. For the first time in my life I was denied alcohol at a liquor store because they just don't take PASSPORTS or International IDs as a form of identification.

A staff member told me "we can't take passports because we can't verify them" and Of course I said "don't passports kind of verify themselves? My passport is my only form of ID in this country, since I am a foreign person. Would you accept my Brazilian drivers license? I can show you 2 other forms of Brazilian ID to prove that I am of age". The staff member proceeded to tell me that he could not do anything about it and that my husband and I should leave the store and find another place.
