If you're looking to buy quality furniture and good customer service. I do not recommend Slumberland in Bemidji. Over the years we have been dedicated customers and this last time was the end of giving them our business. They claim to back up their 100 percent customer satisfaction but that is a lie. We had to have a chair fixed and we hauled it in ourselves because they want to charge a delivery fee to pick it up. The chair is under warranty. We got it back home and it clearly was poorly fixed. Now the foot rest won't go up, the springs are shot and its so sunken in the wood digs into your back. We have asked for store credit to use towards a different piece hopefully better quality but the manager refused. I called today and spoke to Rob personally and what a joke of a manager and representation of Slumberland. He basically said it was fixed he sat in it and there's nothing he can do but I could bring it back in to have it looked at. So he expects me to haul a huge snuggler chair in once again when I've already done this once a week ago or be charged for them to pick it up. Obviously this chair wasn't made with quality from the beginning. Only one person sits in it and its stayed in one spot since we got it. His tone and responses to me were so unprofessional. After I called back and asked for a corporate contact to report this dissatisfaction, Rob decided he could pick it up and take a look at it again. At this point its clear to me this furniture is poorly made and the manager isn't willing to back up the customer satisfaction. I was willing to put the credit towards a more expensive chair with better quality but instead he would rather just lose our business all together and use more resources to keep trying to fix a defected piece of furniture. Next time I will take my business elsewhere. I'd rather deal with a business that backs up their claims and when a piece is under warranty they take care of...
Read moreThis is coming up with last name Rognstad and it is actually Nickerson. We had the absolute WORST experience on 5/24 and 5/25. We came in looking for a recliner for my dad and had seen an ad for a lazy boy regular price of $999 for $299 for a 3 day memorial day sale. We had salesperson Bunny and when I asked for this particular chair she knew nothing about it or the ad. There was none on the floor to try. After I told her I could show her the ad she looked it up online and seen it. I would think your salespeople would know the ads. Then she told me he would have to manually push the footrest down with his legs which is not true. We finally got the recliner in a box and when we got to the nursing home and set it up, it is obviously for a short person. I called Bunny back less than 3 hours after picking it up and she said I could return it and I told her I'd be there at noon the next day (Sunday) She said there was nobody in the warehouse to unload and I told her my husband could and she said ok. Now it is Sunday and we are here to return it and she said she'd open the door. We got back there, my husband unloaded it and she never came. I called and now. Holly told me I have to wait for the manager to open the door and that he should be here shortly after noon. It is now 12:45 and we are still waiting and they said he usually doesn't work on Sundays and he's the only one that can give me my money back unless I bought something else. At this point I am DONE with this store and will definitely let my family and others know as well. I have purchased many things here before but NO MORE. TRAIN YOUR...
Read moreI am not one to write reviews; however I feel it important to get information out to the consumer about an experience at the Bemidji store with the store manager, Rob. I have purchased a mattress 3 1/2 weeks ago. We were promised delivery last week and still no mattress. We called the store during the middle of next week to see if we could pick up the mattress ourselves. The mattress was still not in yet and we were thinking of cancelling our order to see if we could find it somewhere else. The poor sales clerk was not sure if this was possible so ask if she could get the store manager. Once the store manager (Rob) was on the phone his first words to me were so you want to cancel your order. There was no hello, there was no trying to figure out a solution, there was no explanation. The store manager was rude and hung up on me once I pushed him for a corporate number or his supervisors number. Buyer beware to all potential customers.
I would also warn people to get a firm date on your mattress in writing. No one in this company could tell me when my mattress would be in the store or delivered. I am not sure how anyone can run a business and not have a clue on when merchandise will be received. Please get all the logistics before you make a purchase, it will save you lots of headaches and...
