I've been going to Burgerville since I was a young kid (mid 1900's) and often stopped in while traveling. The food was always fresh. It has been awhile since I have been because there isn't one where I live and not one very close. Yesterday, I traveled to Bend for a medical appointment with my daughter and her 5 kids. I saw there was a Burgerville, so I took them all there. I am sorry I did. We were greeted by a very nice young woman, but because we are a big family, we took the paper menu she offered so we could sit down and figure our order out. The music was so loud, it was difficult to hear each other. We finally figured out what everyone wanted. When I went to order, it had gotten fairly busy. An older woman with "Trainer" on her name tag took the order. Surprisingly, she was having trouble finding things on her screen because everything changed, according to her. I was going to order kids' meals and asked if I could upgrade the drinks and I was told no; that there were only certain drinks available. Back to the table to figure out our order. I did find out that the fish and chips had different sizes, so we planned to order larger ones to split with the kids with separate/a la carte drinks. I went to order and everything seemed to go smoothly, but she did not put my drink in the order. She asked if I qualified for their senior discount (65 or older), which I told her not quite yet. I asked if they did a military/vet discount and she told me they did. Even with the 10% discount, our bill came out to $106 and change. Our order came fairly quickly, the food was hot, but I had to go back and order my drink and another drink I had forgotten. I paid an additional $5 for the 12 oz. drink I had forgotten. Once the additional drinks came, I sat down to enjoy my meal. The fish was good, the onion rings were awesome, albeit a bit oily, and my blackberry lemonade tea was okay. Unfortunately, Burgerville has become too expensive for families. I think I could have taken them to a typical sit-down restaurant and paid less, with maybe less choices. I know my review will not be a popular opinion, but it is an honest one based on my experience. I still like Burgerville's food, but this is a one and done for a...
Read moreI grew up in the Vancouver, WA area so I grew up on Burgerville. It just has a taste that’s so familiar. I happen to be driving around and decided to see how they are doing now that they’ve been open for a little bit. Ordered: one cheeseburger w/ extra spread to go. Arrival time: 3:20, order time: 3:25, received order: 3:33. Total time: 13 minutes. The place was moderately busy. I tried to order at their kiosk and found it difficult to work with. There’s no button to complete the order. I didn’t include that time in my review. So I stood in line behind an older couple who were taking a while to order. I noticed two registers were available, but only one person was working a single register. When I looked in back, there were at least 10 people working. I’m not sure why one of them couldn’t have used the other register to speed things up. I’m also not sure why it took eight minutes to deliver a single cheeseburger. High prices and slow service is standard for all Burgervilles unfortunately. The price was a little shocking $4.69 for a cheeseburger. At least the extra spread was no extra charge. But I guess that’s inflation. And then the option to tip them came up on the card reader. Tipping is never anything I’ve ever done at any Burgerville before and I wasn’t about to start today. Frankly, that was a bit annoying. But maybe people enjoy paying even more for “fast” food. While I waited patiently, I watched the flow of work. People were moving around keeping things moving. Several of the servers looked a little confused. I guess trying to find the specific customers for the orders. A nice older lady employee told me I was welcome to sit down. We chatted and she mentioned they will be opening another Burgerville in town because business is booming. On the plus side, the food tasted great. Just like I remember. So I might go back sometime when it’s not busy. I get the feeling they were focused more on the drive-through. There was an employee in the parking lot helping to speed up ordering. Maybe I’ll do that next time. If you really want the Burgerville taste badly it’s...
Read moreNot long after they opened we went to eat there. I used to eat at Bugervilles in Portland when we would visit and I do remember them being good. So I was excited to try this one. The burger was VERY dry and tasteless but the fries were good and so was the shake. So we decided that if we ate there again we would try something else. The second time we went there we tried their chicken strips. They were fantastic! The following week we decided to go back and do the chicken strips again. We ordered the chicken strips, two sides of onion rings and two shakes. We were told the shake machine was down. So we ordered lemonade instead. While we ere waiting for our food to arrive we noticed other people ordering shakes and leaving with them. I went up and questioned them about why other people could order shakes and we could not. They really didn't have an answer for it. Twenty minutes later we noticed that people that had arrived after us were already being served so I went up to ask what the delay was. I was told they were waiting on the onion rings. 5 minutes later we noticed that people that had came after us were getting their onions rings served to them so I assumed ours was coming soon. A half hour after we had ordered a server came out with our meal. But instead of the onion rings there was fries. We told the server we didn't order fries but had ordered onions rings. She left but then came back with the food again and asked if we could please take the food. I said that we had ordered onions rings and would wait for them. She left. 10 minutes later other people were getting their onion ring orders (and their shakes too I might add) but we had nothing (It had now been 40 minutes since we ordered. I went by the time stamp on my order receipt) My sister turned to me and said "This whole experience has ruined my appetite, lets go" So I went up, got my money back on the meal and left. We went across the street to Arby's and got our food in less than 15 minutes. I will NEVER go back to this...
