So much better than El Coporal. Here visiting from So. Tucson, home of authentic Hispanic cuisine. This establishment operating since 1999, has really good dishes to choose from. Didn’t try the Mole as I had it for the last 2 nights . Dam close to the quality of Tucson! The Rodeo Burro is extremely flavorful with picadillo and a side of spicy refried beans. The picadillo consists of shredded spicy sautéed beef similar to Birria. The rice has a warm moist flavor with real shredded Cheddar cheese on beans and the Burrito. We had Gordito as our server, very knowledgeable as he’s from Mexico City with a strong knowledge of Mexican cuisine. Very efficient and excellent waiter! The owner visits each table asking for your opinion and thanking you for your patronage. Quick attentive service with follow up communication. An unbelievable amount of free parking. Full service bar open for Happy Hours in a separate Lounge with dedicated entrance!

- STRONGLY RECOMMEND - UPDATE: The Good- After six visits, everything has been authentic and delicious. Dining in is great as it's never fully crowded for some reason. Often the owner is sitting at a table- nice guy! The Bad- N/A The Tip- Get any of the steak options if that's on your mind at all! And ask for extra beans and rice- I'm not a beans and rice guy, but theirs is amazing. Early post, as I have not truly eaten here but Google wanted a review ASAP. My girlfriend and I stopped in for just a beer, but immediately they gave us home-made chips and salsa, which was killer! The people were awesome and the menu seems homestyle and authentic. Service was great at the bar, and we will return for dinner soon. Will update review then.

This is our family’s first trip to Bend, OR and so we brought the dogs too. Most hotels won’t let you leave your dogs unattended so I picked up dinner from El Rodeo to bring back to the room. When we were ordering, it was easy to navigate the menu and the staff was super helpful when my wife called with a couple of questions. Prompt very friendly service at the restaurant too. The food: ROCKED!!! My wife and kids got Burritos and I ordered the Carne Asada, all of it excellent. As was the chips, salsa, and guacamole. I feel that the prices are definitely reasonable. If you’re in Bend and looking for outstanding Mexican food, give them a try!

Absolutely FANTASTIC!! food, service, staff and an amazing owner that knows how to run it all perfectly. From the moment you walk into this restaurant, they make you feel immediately at home, just like you're their family, very kid friendly, you'll be greeted with a warm & genuine greeting from their staff, whom can quickly seat you with little to no wait. Even on their busiest nights, the wait is short due to their efficiency. Once seated, they immediately fill your table with the essentials, including a tasty; not to hot, not to sweet, cooked red salsa with fire roasted chilies, an excellent cabbage dish *I like to add salt to mine, in house made corn chips; crunchy, never stale and always warm. There's never a waiter or waitress far away and they attend to your table as if you were royalty, their wait staff just blows me away with their speed & genuine family like friendliness, always keeping your drinks topped off and making sure you have what you need.

The food is consistent time and time again, excellent quality in everything and all home made. Serving up some very unique and wonderful flavors in dishes such as, to name a few, Steak Picado; juicy tender steak grilled perfectly over flame, cooked in a mouth watering tomato sauce /w just enough heat from some jalapenos to give it that flavorful zip, to their special Enchiladas Rancheras; bathed in a mouthwatering, flavorful deep red sauce, not being even close to the average Americanized sauce you get elsewhere.

I'll also add that these guys know how to cook their meat and they use excellent quality cuts.

I have been frequenting this restaurant for years and know everyone by name as they do myself and my family. The owner, Rudy, comes around and visits tables as he's frequently there and it's very clear that he loves food and is passionate and proud of what he produces out of his kitchen. His son, daughter & wife also work in the business right alongside each other.

I find it to be the best Mexican food in Central Oregon and can assure you that you won't be...

As soon as we sat down the waitress started rushing us kept coming over asking us if we knew what we wanted and we just opened the menu. I asked her to please give us a few minutes that we would like to look at the menu My husband and myself are out on a date and we hadn't gone out in a very very long time. The waitress said okay left for about 2 minutes came back have and said again have you decided I said please give us a few minutes. Then finally we ordered and I don't even know what I ordered but at least it was good . And we wanted to tell her we had the wrong drinks and that we wanted some chip and green sauce and she was over at socializing in the area with the other waitresses and waiter and wouldn't even come over to us. So she rushed us through making a order to go socialize and not even come back to the table And then people came in that she knew and was very attentive to them brought in their food before our food got on their drinks socialize with them and won't even look twice at our table

The food was awesome but she even gave us the wrong drinks. she just disappeared and then did not come back to the table until she until we got our food she ask if we wanted anything and we went to say something and she walked away so the waitress was horrible horrible and we wanted some chips and things and it's just horrible service and we spent $50 that night. The sad thing was we would have tipped her awesome but she was too busy talking to her friends that came in to order and making sure they were taken care of and socializing with the other waitresses and waiters in the back and just rushed us through. And then when we finally saw her again she brought us a to go box and she just shoved all my food in there on top of each other it was pretty gross looking again she just wanted to get done with us. I even told her I wanted to put my food in to go box and she took my plate and just put it in there anyway I'm very disappointed in the way we were treated because we were not her friends or...

We're in town and we're looking for dinner options. Saw El Rodeo pop up as a top rated restaurant and decided to give it a try!

Good news: They have food, saw no bugs, and they refilled our soda once.

Bad news: We went in around 8:45 pm and the greeter was nice enough. There were quite a few people in the restaurant so we figured we had hit the jackpot. Our server was okay, he only came to get our order, deliver food, and drop the check. We're used to fairly authentic Mexican food - this place tasted like everything was straight from a can to us. I ordered the pollo a la crema; it was extremely over salted, sticky, and canny. I found multiple pieces of lettuce, green onion, and another thing I couldn't identify - none of which come with my order. Also, I could not identify anything in the "crema" as cream; it tasted like cheap cheese and preservatives. My husband got the chicken enchiladas. He is one to normally eat food no matter what. He found a bone, so we think, and didn't eat even a quarter of his meal. The prices were way too high, we believe, for the reheated, unpleasant food that we received. To top it off, the waiter did not even offer us a doggy bag for the plethora of leftover food we had, or ask how the meal was. Needless to say, we will never return. I have no idea where these great reviews for this restaurant are from. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere. Even Taco Bell or Del Taco are better options as compared to what you get...
