Staff were very prejudice and discriminatory. They called me over the phone early this morning and left a vm asking me to come in for an early appt. I called back and agreed to come in early. I arrived 15 mins before my appt time. There was one person ahead of me. When I walked in they didnāt acknowledge me. Iām AA and a Caucasian woman walked in behind me. They acknowledged her and skipped me to take care of her and her pet. The Caucasian woman told them mid conversation that I was there before her. They claimed they didnāt see me even though me, my son, and pet were inside and the space was so small that I could reach out and touch them. So eventually they get my pet information, feels him and says heās matted but they will still be able to take care of him they would wash him trim his face, but they wouldnāt cut his body too low because heās matted. I agreed. They leash him and take him to the back. Me & my son leaves and when we are almost home(10-15 minutes later) the ālead groomerā calls me back saying she canāt cut him because heās too matted, sheās not that experienced, heās too scared, Maybe her boss could cut him, & then eventually says I need to take him to the vet where they can give him āmedsā to calm him for a cut. Excuses on top of excuses. Made me drive back & pick up my pet without even touching him. Not even a wash. I know prejudice still exists but never thought I would experience this from a franchises pet store. This is just unacceptable and bad for this company altogether to be treated in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went into my local PetSmart yesterday in Bessemer, AL to purchase dog food. I have shopped at this store for years. I picked up my bag of dog food and went to the counter to pay. The cashier was busy adjusting his personal phone and Bluetooth earpiece so I actually had to wait until he finished, a couple of minutes, before he even looked up to acknowledge me, all the while talking on his phone. When he gave me the total, I told him that the dog food was on sale, and the total was not correct. He totaled the purchase again and came up with the same price. He was getting $15.99 when it should have been $13.99. So he says I will go and check the price on the shelf. He strolled away, no hurry, even though customers were waiting behind me and his was the only checkout open. He strolled back a couple of minutes later to state that the sale was only on the chicken flavor and I had the lamb flavor. The bags looked exactly the same and the one that I had picked up was out of place. So then I had to go and get the correct bag off the shelf, no he didnāt bring one back with him, and all the while people are waiting in line behind me. He never apologized for the inconvenience, nothing, just continued with his phone conversation which was going on all this time. From now on, I will shop somewhere else for my dog food, how you treat customers...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe cashier seems really nice, but she is also very sarcastic and really takes money serious. When I used a gift card, she was upset that I wasn't spending cash or my debit. "Wow must be nice having a gift card and not having to spend your money on all these items. Want to use some of it to donate then?" --this was her comment to me. I find that really odd..
They treat their fish, hermit crabs, small animals like garbage. Temperatures aren't right and the creatures seem miserable. Sometimes you will find some dead. Hermit crabs need heat and humidity at a 80/80 ratio. They keep it around 60 and no humidity. Poor creatures. They care nothing for their animals and get them from nasty mills. Take a look at the betta fish in the small cups next time. YIKES...
ONE POSITIVE: I love their groomers. I would definitely find the one with the most experience, but they have always been caring with my animals. I love PetSmart for that reason only. They do well...
