Miche Pest Control — Local services in Bethesda

I called Miche Pest for bats in our attic in late summer 2024. The inspector confirmed the presence of bats; they were hanging onto netting in my attic gables. The netting prevented them from flying into the attic but had enough slack that the bats could perch inside the gables and poop down the inside walls into my attic. I hired Miche to install external metal grates (diamond lattice) to keep the bats out and to remove the large piles of guano from both sides of the attic. The “techs” came a few weeks later and installed the exterior diamond lattice. They then came into our house to remove the guano. The “techs” seemed to have a disagreement at that point and one tech angrily went into the attic with a shop vac (I thought you are not supposed to vacuum guano and/or are supposed to mist it before removal to prevent it from becoming airborne, but I didn’t say anything because I figured they are professional pest control?!?). After a few mins the tech starts climbing back down and accidentally drops the vacuum, causing it to pop open and spill out into my second floor hallway, just outside my toddler’s bedroom! That tech seemed like he could not care less. The other tech apologized, put the vacuum back together and (re)vacuumed the spilled guano from the hallway. I was pissed but did not call Miche because I figured mistakes happen and the “damage” was done at that point so instead I bought an air filter and scrubbed the hallway floor. Fast forward nine months and I hear sounds in my attic so I called Terminix (zero chance I was going back to Miche). They confirmed I had mice (this is a new issue- unrelated to the bats). While looking for the mice they found the old pile of guano still sitting under a gable—right above my toddler’s bedroom!! The lattice installation held up just fine but the genius tech only vacuumed the guano under one of the two gables. I just called Miche and of course they told me it must be from a new bat and that I was past my warranty. I explained that the lattice held up; there were no new bats; and that a warranty applies only to work that was actually performed. In this case they didn’t perform all of the work I had contracted them to do! They advised I should be happy the lattice held up and kept the bats out. I understand how they would be a bit suspect when a client calls back after nine months saying they failed to complete work. That said, they can see the techs who were sent to my house and I’m willing to bet I’m not the only one to have experienced such unprofessional work. I guess I’m partly to blame for not sharing with the company the unprofessional work I witnessed at the time they (1) vacuumed the guano, and then (2) dropped it in my hallway. This was my first experience with Miche Pest Control, but likely won't be my last.

I called them out of desperation needing a close out flea and tick spray, so I could get my lease deposit back. I had to have the service done by the day after called them. And miraculously they were able to do it! What's more, it cost $100 less than the company who I had scheduled and canceled.

The communication with the staff was awesome. Communication is a huge attribute I look for in a long time partner for my services. I asked to be contacted when the Tech was on their way as I would leave work and met them. Like clock work the Tech was waiting on me when I pulled up 1m after they said they would be there.

The Tech was courteous and fast. This was the last thing on my move out checklist and just wanted for them to get in and out so I could go about my day. Again Miche delivered. Within 17m of the Tech arriving, putting on their shoe booties and me showing the house, we were walking out the door.

Payment and invoice was easily completed on their portal while I sat at a stoplight. Haha.

Miche pest control has managed to somehow tear down the innumerable amount of pests we have had in our home since we purchased almost a year ago. We have had a problem with bed bugs, roaches, wasps and ants of every type.

No matter how hard we worked, who we called, or what we did. We couldn't get rid of all these bugs. We purchased this house as a foreclosure and have worked hard to bring it back to it's former glory.

Our technician came out and immediately started his initial inspection. Afterwards we had every single question answered. Will these chemicals harm my family? No, after it's dry in about an hour or so we will be perfectly fine. Will this harm our animals? No, just the same as before we will be perfectly fine.

We were given a well thought out amazing plan of attack. Dust in cracks, and in walls, traps in hard to reach places so our kids can't reach, chemicals that are perfectly safe for our animals, and covers for every matress to ensure no more bed bugs.

There is no other pest control company I could trust more with my family in their hands. I love our technician, my wife has never been more at peace, our kids are not living in other people's mistakes. I would never think of recommending any other company to friends or family. Thank you so much...
