Solid place, we enjoyed the food quite a bit overall, and great service as well. Cocktail could have been a bit better balanced and the pricing of the entrees was a bit steep for the quality. I would say the food is comparable to Clyde's or Glenwood's (fka Stanford Grill) in terms of MoCo spots. We enjoyed the following: Crispy Empanadas & Chipotle Dipping Sauce - delicious seasoned ground beef paired perfectly with the creamy aioli. Tuna & Avocado Tartar, Crispy Wontons & Seaweed Salad - it was fine but have had better versions of this dish, just wasn't as fresh tasting as hoped Sautéed Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes - With bacon mashed potatoes, roasted corn hash, and sweet corn sauce. My friend enjoyed his crab cakes, they're always good in MD, the crab quality does most of the work here. Black & White Sesame Crusted Seared Tuna - With roasted red pepper, snow pea, bean sprout, red onion, couscous, and sweet chili sauce - this was also good but not epic. Trio of Profiteroles -Cream puffs with vanilla ice cream, caramel & chocolate sauces. Simple but excellent.

I order my lamb chops medium rare and get them as pictured. It's super rare. Anyone can see that they're not medium rare with that color gradient. I ask the waiter if they can get cooked longer and he fires back with some snark, "So you wanted them medium then". I didn't want to argue with an old man who's eyes were obviously failing him so I just asked him to tell the kitchen to cook the lamb a little longer than the medium rare he claimed it was. Thankfully they complied and it came out better (medium but at least it wasn't raw) but then another waiter went up to me and asked if I was done with my plate while I was still eating. Maybe I soured the mood and it's their way of asking me to hurry up and leave. I don't give bad reviews for service often and I tolerate a lot of stuff as long as the service even attempts to make amends. I got over 400+ reviews at the time of this review. Most of my reviews are pretty positive, I only give low scores for food poisoning in the past, but this place annoyed me a little too much and ruined my evening.

Wonderful service. The managers/owners are always hand on from taking orders, clearing tables, to regularly check on patrons, on top of their regular duties despite the ample number of staff. Easy to see their passion and love of their jobs in their meticulous arrangement of the bar shelves or their keeping your water glass always full. As appetizer, wasabi oyster is a delight: A salty crunchy coating, an expectedly tart soy sauce and julienne cucumber compose a symphony of taste and texture. Seared scallop is simply delicious but the lone scallop makes the dish sad. Tuna tartare is great. Antipasto board is very satisfying. For entrees, bouillabaisse is marvelous even though saffron and table ground pepper might make it even better. Crab cake is on par with the best in Maryland. Lobster roll is a miss, too banal, too small. Dessert offers a sublime hot lava cake topped with cold ice cream, a creme brûlée that make you want to lick the dish clean. The intriguing menu beckons you to come back again and again until you have tried all the items.

If you’ve seen reviews about bad service here, listen to them.

Didn’t even get a chance to taste the food because the behavior of the hostess. We made a reservation at 5:30, arrived less than ten minutes after our reservation time and the restaurant knew this of this delay. We had been seated down for about 10-15 minutes before they came to ask us for our orders at 5:55pm when the host told us loudly and repeatedly that we had to hurry because they had another party to serve at 7:30pm and that we had come too late because our reservation started at 5:30.” Seating, waiting and ordering time never begins at reservation time. I have always waited 15-30 minutes for waiters to come to tables even when we were early for reservations, and we did even at this restaurant, so it was a dramatic exaggeration on the hostess’ part. Reminder that our entire half of the restaurant was empty. We felt uncomfortable and left. I would understand if the restaurant was busy or if I didn’t see so many available time slots when I booked the reservation, but none of that was the case. We told the host that we were leaving but I received an email a minute layer that my reservation was “canceled” as if we did not leave by choice. It just felt very catty! This was a graduation dinner, but we celebrated else where! I just feel bad for our waiter who...

Why I won’t return… Last night’s entree was below sub par. The day’s catch was trout . When it arrived, it was clear that the trout was dry and overcooked .. Ditto the shrimp …as the few pieces of shrimp which were part of the entree were tough, tasteless and overcooked . , The pieces were so small that I could not find them . My daughter liked her filet , which arrived as she chose . Fortunately the tuna tartare appetizer was as tasty as I had remembered from past visits . I did not inform my very nice waiter of my immediate dissatisfaction with my entree since it ruins the meal for both diners… one eating at one time while the dissatisfied one waits for some kind of gustatory replacement. When I called for a reservation the management insisted that the choices for a dine inside option were either 5:30 or 8:30…. would not even permit a reservation for 5:45.! Yet when we arrived on time and throughout our meal , there were many empty tables . Perhaps the shrimp were left over from the previous night .. or (just guessing) my daughter’s filet took longer to cook as my trout languished over a heat lamp. Regardless , I left with disappointment.. and vowed never to return. Such a shame . Regrettably but honestly submitted...

We had a party of eight for Mother's day and 7 out of the 8 chose sunset special. The food was good for the most part. The portion size was ok except for the hanger steak which alone is $28 and sunset special is $33 which includes appetizer and dessert. This is where it loses at least one star. First hanger steak is a cheaper cut of beef and it came with about seven slices of beef roughly 3 inch by .5 inch thick. For $28 dollars you would think they would give you a bigger portion. Then comes the dessert. I ordered trio mini cream puffs. Here is where it goes continues downhill. The normal cream puff order comes with 3 mini cream puffs which is about 2 inch in diameter. I pointed to the server that it had only two and menu stated trio. A lady came by maybe the manager??? and explained that sunset special you only get two. First the dessert is nothing more than flour for most part. How much more would it cost them to throw in the third one, maybe .50 in materials???? How cheap can Persimmon be???? Here it loses another star. My advice IF YOU MUST GO TO PERSIMMON, STAY AWAY FROM HANGER STEAK AND DON"T ORDER CREAM PUFF FOR DESSERT if you choose to go the...
