El Rio Western Wear — Local services in Beverly Hills

A good friend of the family went there today and laid two $100 bills and one $20 bill on the counter in front of the clerk to send money to his wife in Mexico as he has done many time before at this business but at their prior location and twice before at this new location. As he was leaving he noticed on the receipt that only US$100 were sent by the amount in the Mexican currency (1,775.00) shown which was less than before. Normally , its over $3k in Mexican currency and this is what raised a flag as he was leaving.

I got involved as he came to me for help. I spoke with the Manager there about 2 hours after the incident and the Manager assured me that they had counted the $ drawers and were not over and that he looked everywhere for it in case my friend dropped it , and the missing $100 bill has not been found and i know my friend has no reason to lie but we want this event documented. Beverly Hills police can not do a report either ; we were referred by them to take this to civil court .

My friend is illiterate and did not notice until he was ready to exit . The receipt is not signed and the manager advised me that they have not had a chance to set up the surveillance camera system yet either since they have moved to this new location a month ago. The Manager stated , he was in the bathroom when this occurred and that there were 3 people there. My friend only saw 2 people there and says that the Manager was at his desk. .

We contacted the "Intercambio Express" , the entity that processes these type of transactions and the spanish speaking rep who answered (no english) was very familiar with this "busy agency" as she put it . We wanted to report what happened and this phone rep was so rude that honestly i would be more careful next time as i advised my friend who just left very sad about everything. My friend intends to proceed forward with this matter so that this never happens again. May be the first for all , this has never happened to him either but we would like to ensure it will be the last , as well.

The manager there at the time of this happening states that they have never had this happen and i believe them but my friend had no idea that the place had no cameras in place either. My friend also states that other customers did come in after he was there after waiting for them to count the money and the manager told me different?? We just want you to know. We intend to get a hold of the owner as we were also advised that it is private information to get the owner's info. Prayers for all to come...

I would recommend coming here. The staff are really patient and kind. Also they have a great variety of boots. Five stars...
